I just got a widget today for House of Glass. I always think it's funny to receive a widget for a book you've already requested or gotten.
My current shelf (good idea!):
I have a very small shelf so this was not hard to do. I know some of you guys have many, many more books! This was helpful to remind me of what I have coming up!
Here's my shelf of the ones I have that aren't out yet.
And then I'll just put the already released ones under a spoiler tag because it's way too many.
(view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I like how you split them up by not published yet and already published, Melanie.I won't even attempt to show my backlog. lol. But next time I'm at my PC, I'll see how many are 2024 titles. l think at least 20.
I have a personal Goodreads group to keep track of challenges and readathons so here are my 2024 publications:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I have the same, Elyse. :)
Also, I keep going back to Baby X. It sounds so good, but I haven't grabbed it yet because I don't know if I'll have time to read it. My reading has been so slow lately.
(Don't forget to mark Every Time I Go on Vacation, Someone Dies as a buddy read!)

Melanie, I've read a few (I think 4) of your published books and thought they were all really good. I hope you enjoy them when they get to them too.
I keep my published works separate from my not yet published books in my personal thread, but combined everything here. It's easy enough for me to sort out though.
The Ferryman published last year. I started it with the group, but put it aside. I hope to give it another try soon.
The Expectant Detectives published a few days ago. I thought I would have read it already, but haven't been reading much of anything so it ended up late. It is my next planned read though. I really hope it is a little lighter with some humor (think Finlay Donovan).
Everything else is current at this point.

I'm hoping this year to at least get to my 2024 books by the end of the month they're published in and then just pick off the old ones at random. Hopefully by the end of the year I'll manage to clear most of them. Seems a bit ambitious to state I want to get to them all but it is possible with how much I read.
Melanie, if you listen to audiobooks, I've found it incredibly helpful for my backlog to borrow the audio and go back and forth between e-book and audio to finish the book quicker!
Elyse wrote: "Melanie, if you listen to audiobooks, I've found it incredibly helpful for my backlog to borrow the audio and go back and forth between e-book and audio to finish the book quicker!"This is what I used to do to help catch up but since I've been working from home I haven't been listening to audiobooks anymore as I tend to just put the TV on during the day. I really should switch back to audiobooks instead.

I gave
5 stars so I'm very much looking forward to
!And thank you for reminding me to add in the other buddy reads too! I had to update my list with 6 more books including the Alex Finlay and Sarah Pekkanen books!
I had my baby boy, Bastien Reece, on 1/18 after almost 2 days of labor, 2 epidurals, a C-section, a seizure, and 4 days in the hospital. He spent the first 18 hours of his life with his dad while I was intubated in the ICU. We went home on 1/21 and we are tired. Bastien loves cuddling and does not like to be put down so that whole "sleep when the baby sleeps" is very difficult to do so far. lol. But we're in pure heaven.
Oh my Lord, Elyse! What a scary experience. So glad you are both ok and home. Congratulations on your beautiful baby. ❤️
My oldest was like that - loved to cuddle, didn't want to be put down. It was exhausting. I remember giving up on putting her down for her nap one day because she woke up every time I tried. I ended up sitting outside reading a book while she napped on my chest. She had a lovely nap and I was "forced" to sit still and read for a couple hours. lol

Elyse, sounds like quite a frustrating and scary delivery! I'm so glad you are home now and adjusting to life as a momma. My first hated being left alone as well so I completely understand. I will say now though, both kids late teens/early 20s, I miss every moment when they were little. Now, looking back, lol. I hope you are getting lots of help, as you need to also recover. Thanks for letting us know! ❤️
Congrats Elyse! That must have been quite an ordeal. Glad all are doing well now and enjoy the lovely addition to the family!
I’ve stayed away from browsing for months so I can catch up and read books other than ARCs. Now that I’m close to catching up, I’ve added a few:A Refiner's Fire
The Oyster Diver's Secret
Goddess of the River (thanks for posting your review Shruti, which is what made me look it up!)
Traveling Solo: A Life Well Lived, A Death Well Planned

I can't wait to read your reviews on those books, Lilisa. The last one especially sounds interesting and I can't believe that Brunetti series is now up to 33 books! Are you all caught up and now just waiting for that one?
Tasha wrote: "I can't wait to read your reviews on those books, Lilisa. The last one especially sounds interesting and I can't believe that Brunetti series is now up to 33 books! No more browsing for a while !🤣
LOLI've been staying away. I'm doing some reading for other things I'm exploring and while I'm loving it, it's not GRs book reads so I've slowed down here a lot. :)
Good for you Tasha - enjoy your other reading! So, I did not realize the damage I did the day I browsed!🤦♀️ I was approved for a few more:
- The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
- The Fortune Teller's Prophecy: A Memoir of an Unlikely Doctor by Lally Pia
- 12 Trips in 12 Months: Make Your Own Solo Travel Magic Jen Ruiz
- There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak
- Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent by Judi Dench
Especially looking forward to the last two - I love Elif Shafak’s books and so interested to see what Judi Dench has to say.
I have to stay away from browsing again!

Dr. B wrote: "We've all been there Lilisa :D I also got Elif's book and excited to get to it!"Great Dr. B! Have you read any of her other books? I particularly liked her last one - The Island of Missing Trees, as well as The Architect's Apprentice, and 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World.
Kristie wrote: "Too funny, Lilisa! We've all been there. I hope they all turn out to be great reads."Haha, I hope so too, Kristie!

Apologies Dr. B - just saw your comment. Would love to do a buddy read of There Are Rivers in the Sky. What works for you? I’m totally flexible.
The Forty Rules of Love was my least favorite, but I have been wanting to re-read it because I did it on audio and I feel I need to read it as I might like it better.
I added:The New Tourist: Waking Up to the Power and Perils of Travel
Where Rivers Part: A Story of My Mother's Life and

Lol, Dr. B - long story, but I’m 78% into There Are Rivers in the Sky but happy to do a buddy read with you starting July 10 and happily re-read it - let me know!I ended up inadvertently posting a review for another book Where Rivers Part: A Story of My Mother's Life for There Are Rivers 🤦♀️ - both have Rivers in the title! - and couldn’t figure out how to undo it, so had to move up my reading so I can post the correct review - hopefully soon, offph! Anyone done that before and is there a way to undo the review other than editing the review on Nwtgalley’s site? I ended up deleting the wrong review and replacing it with a placeholder that the review is to come.
Dr. B wrote: "Ah, I can start it today then and create the thread for it so you can already post your thoughts on it, if that's ok with you? Mistakes happen so don't worry about it too much!"
That would be lovely - yes, please, thanks for being flexible!
I can see how that could happen, Lilisa. I think I would have handled that situation the same way you did.
Kristie wrote: "I can see how that could happen, Lilisa. I think I would have handled that situation the same way you did."It felt great to replace the placeholder with the actual review a few minutes ago!😊
