Haha, didn’t realize both were coauthored by them! Fingers crossed as Becoming Madam Secretary is not.

Tasha Yeah, saw that. Can't wait to read your review. :)

Vicki Willis | 871 comments I just finished Keep Your Friends Close by Lucinda Berry Keep Your Friends Close and it was a solid read.

Very juicy, drama filled, West Hollywood type of mothers.
It is the 3rd one I have read by this author and she is very good with unlikable characters who make the book better.

I just got the audio of Her Sister's Death. It published last year, but the audio is available now. I'm hoping to listen to it starting just after Thanksgiving.

That one sounds good too. I have never read that author before. I am going to go look at the audio now.

I understand that. I only grabbed it because I really wanted to try another book by this author and the audio was available. I still won't read it until sometime in January though.

I just got Tangled Up in You by Christina Lauren! I was surprised to receive it because I think Christina Lauren is a popular author(s) and I think it's also my first approval by Hyperion Avenue. It looks really cute. It's a "modern reimagining of Disney’s Tangled" and doesn't publish until June.

I don't think we have a buddy read planned for this one yet, but I was just approved for The Nature of Disappearing by Kimi Cunningham Grant The Nature of Disappearing! I requested this one a while back and thought for sure it was going to be a decline because it was just sitting there, then I was surprised with an approval today. :) I loved These Silent Woods and have been waiting to see what she would come out with next.

message 725: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I don't have it. That first book is on my radar though. :)

message 726: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Can someone remind me when we are planning on reading Darling Girls Trying to plan my Jan and want to make sure it's included if it's next month. thanks :)

message 727: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis | 871 comments Darling Girls doesn't publish until the end of April. I am hoping to read it in March sometime.

message 728: by Kristie (new)

Yes, our calendar just says March with exact date still TBD.

message 729: by Tasha (new)

Tasha perfect, thanks! I looked for the calendar but I didn't see it. I'll go look again. :)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 17 comments Figured I'd post this here since I grabbed it and I know her books are popular but I just got an email that this one is Read Now for the first 1,000 members.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen

Kristie | 2898 comments Mod
Oh, I just came here to say the same thing! I grabbed House of Glass too. If you're interested, hurry over! It is still READ NOW, but I'm sure not for much longer.

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen

Publishes: August 6

message 735: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 1526 comments Got the email too and immediately nabbed it!

message 736: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis | 871 comments Oh, bummer. I just logged on but I had to request it. The good thing is, I have always gotten approved for hers.

message 737: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 2898 comments Mod
Hope you get it, Vicki! I often miss the books that are read now for the first # reviewers. I think most times they get a lot of requests from people who just missed it and they expect it so they have more to give out. Hopefully, you'll hear back quickly.

message 738: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I missed it but am not going to request it at this time bc I'm not sure what I will think about the author. I've never read anything by her yet, she is def on my radar though. I'll be watching to see what you guys think about it though. :)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 1526 comments Jamie Day's new book One Big Happy Family by Jamie Day One Big Happy Family is READ NOW for 48 hours. I don't think any of us *loved* The Block Party by Jamie Day The Block Party but I don't think we hated it either. I'll give the author another shot. It publishes July 16.

If you're interested in checking out her work, I would recommend The Golden Couple which she co-wrote with Greer Hendricks or Gone Tonight. Those are the only two I've read by her, but I thought they were good.

I saw this. I didn't read The Block Party, which sounded so good, but seemed to be just an average book. I was considering getting this one. I haven't decided yet because I don't want to swamp myself again.

message 742: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis | 871 comments I had to look and see if I read The Block Party and I didn't even though it sounds like the kind of book I would like.
I am going to try this author and get One Big Happy Family.

As far as Sarah Pekkanen, I agree with you Kristie and I also LOVED The Wife Between Us which was also co-authored.

I just got widgets for Summers at the Saint Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews and The Rom-Commers The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center . I was declined on EW (as usual) for The Rom-Commers and have been watching NG for it to show up, so that is an immediate YES from me! I'm super excited for it. I love Katherine Center. I may accept the MKA one too. I skipped the widget they sent me for her last book and ended up really wanting to read it.

I got this widget too (and now I think it's a 'read now' on Netgalley)
I'd be up for buddy reading it if you want, when the pub date gets closer!

message 746: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 1526 comments I also received widgets for both. Accepted The Rom-Commers but am waiting on Summers at the Saint.

message 747: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 2898 comments Mod
I did the same, Elyse. No baby yet??

Trisha - If I end up accepting the widget, I definitely will. It's 448 pages, so I don't want to commit just yet. It is read now right now though, so if anyone else wants to grab it now is a good time!

message 748: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 1526 comments Nope no baby yet! But he'll be here next week whether he likes it or not. I'm getting induced on Tuesday. It's his decision until then. lol
