I just got approved for The Bone Hacker
. I requested it because I LOVE the island of Turks and Caicos and it is set there. What I DIDN"T pay attention to, is that it is number 22 (TWENTY TWO) in a series I have never read!
LOL oh no! We will see what happens with this one.
I also got approved for
The Engagement Party, another new to me author.

I've done that before! lol I started the Andy Carpenter series at #23 thanks to NetGalley. I enjoyed it enough to go back and start from the beginning, but also want to keep up with the end, so now I'm in this strange position of having read #1, 2, 3, 4, & 23, 24, 25, 26. Number 27 comes out in July and is currently available on NG, so I'll probably end up adding at least #5 & 27 to my read list this year. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😂

I added The Connellys of County Down. I loved We Are the Brennans, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Oh but it's Bones!! I loved the show. Haven't read a book. I'm sure you can jump in whenever. And if you read that one and then go back and read all the predecessors, you won't remember what happened in this book by the time you get it again. 🤣

Elyse wrote: "Oh but it's Bones!! I loved the show. "Oh! I didn't know that either. Interesting.
Haha Kristie!

I seem to be making much better progress with my audios lately, so I picked up the audio of Gone Tonight.
I was also excited to see the audio for Flop Dead Gorgeous
available. I love this series. It is pretty formulaic, but there are great characters and it has really witty humor. It's always an enjoyable read.

I added Return to Valetto (audiobook) by Dominic Smith. I also added The Girl in the Eagle's Talons by Karin Smirnoff - fingers crossed on this one. I saw after I got it that it has a 3.34 rating - 🤔!
Lilisa, that happened to me with The Exhibitionist. A low rating on GRs but I ended up enjoying it. Hoping your book goes as well for you!
Tasha wrote: "Lilisa, that happened to me with The Exhibitionist. A low rating on GRs but I ended up enjoying it. Hoping your book goes as well for you!"Thanks Tasha - I’m hoping that’s the case too. I have enjoyed lower rated books occasionally and then wonder why other readers didn’t enjoy them more! 😉
That's the fun thing about reading books, you never know how it's going to sit with any given reader. :)
Kristie wrote: "Nice! It's like Christmas. lol"I told Kevin about the new books and he said Do they pay for reviewing? And I said yes they pay me in free books. He replied but you're already rich in books lol :)
Haha. I always tell people that I get paid in free books when they ask if I get paid for reviewing and they just look at me like I'm crazy.
I added Wandering through Life: A Memoir by Donna Leon and Diva by Daisy Goodwin. I'm especially looking forward to reading what Donna Leon has to say about herself - she's one of my favorite mystery writers.
I’ve added:The Smuggler's Apprentice of Guatemala by Lachlan Page
The Tigrayan Electrician: Memories of my father and his beloved motherland by Issayas Bahta
The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo, and
Far from the Rooftop of the World: Travels among Tibetan Refugees on Four Continents by Amy Yee
I have been sooo good staying away from adding to my list in the last two months!🙂
I love when I've not added for a while and finally feel good about requesting. It's so fun to get back in there. Nice job, Lilisa.

Finally got my approval for 'Twas the Bite Before Christmas.
Phew! I was waiting on that one for a while and getting a little nervous. I love this series. :)

Some really interesting choices, Lilisa. I love this cover:
I haven't read this author yet but she is on my radar so I'm looking forward to your thoughts on this one.

I’ve read one of her other books, which like this one is a mix of historical fiction and fantasy/magical realism. I liked it and wanted to try another. Be reading it a bit later - it publishes in January!
Do you mean The Ghost Bride. That's the book that's been on my radar for years. I know she has another one but this is the one that always grabbed my attention although I guess not enough to read it yet. ;)
Tasha wrote: "Did you like that one, Lilisa?"It was an okay read - glad I read it, enjoyed it, like a lot of other books :-) I see I gave it 3 stars, which is a good rating for me. Not sure if this helps?!🙂
I added My Friends by Hisham Matar and The Future of Geography: How Power and Politics in Space Will Change Our World by Tim Marshall.

I am still pending but hopefully can join.
Trisha wrote: "Yes!! I'm still behind a few books. Maybe Tuesday start?"Tuesday works for me!
Fingers crossed, Vicki!
Tasha wrote: "That sounds really interesting! I'll be watching to see what you think."I’ve read one of her other books and liked it, hopefully I’ll like this one too!
I've read America's First Daughter and loved it, 5 stars, but only gave 3 stars to My Dear Hamilton. Those were collabs but I do hear she is a loved author.
The one I read was America's First Daughter - I liked it too - 4 stars. Too bad My Dear Hamilton wasn’t the same experience. I see it was coauthored - anything to do with that you think?
