Like, their dad was totally cool about his wife having a affair and now their running off building sculptures with the guy? So bizarre. I liked Noah more than Jude too Connie! I wasn't fused on Nelson's writing style though, there was to much going on for me to keep track of, especially in noah's POV because he was 'away with the fairies' a lot. that's just me though haha. :)

Only a few pages in and, is it just me, or is the book a bit over-the-top funny. The '15 feet tall' or 'the entire US breathing in dramatically' jokes are funny bit they're too frequent.
But, I do really like the drawing ideas he constantly gets. It's something that probably goes on in the head of an artist.

Noah and Jude are both abso-fucking-lutely crazy and I love them both for being so crazy! It took some time to love them both and accept and understand them (like most of the book), but I did and I think they two of the most amazing characters ever written.

This was a beautiful and touching book (I cried. A lot.) and I'm so glad I read it. Thank you Jandy Nelson.

I think the language and writing style was a bit wonky when I first read it, but coming from a child like Noah who's in the 7th grade and an artist, it makes sense. When you get to Jude it changes because she's 16? I think? But trust me, you get used to it... hopefully.

It's not as easy for her to tell what's in mine, though, because I have shutters and close them whenever I have to. Like lately." This is because Noah's so closed off and so isolated especially since he feels like a black sheep and is experiencing changes in his sexuality.

I'm obsessed with how Noah looks at his mom like she hung the moon. :D I literally love how happy he was when she loved his art. :D I felt bad for Jude, but Jude is already their father's favorite and Noah feels like a black sheep. Sorry for the rambling, but ILOVENOAH D: (hide spoiler)]

I just started Jude and it's still super weird too. I think it's because we don't get a true introduction to how these characters are, and the family, and just hear them hating on Dad and loving Mom, and talking about ghosts, while we don't understand the family dynamic at all. I hope it improves!
