Marietta Weaver (griffonmender) | 39 comments I lost my copy of this old Isaac Asimov book I got secondhand, but I can’t for the life of me remember what the title was.

All I can remember was that it was a thin paperback anthology with an alien on the cover, more specifically a green (presumably) male humanoid wearing a loincloth and striking a dramatic pose.

I tried searching for this image, and though I found a site dedicated to much worse, yet oddly charming, scifi and fantasy coverart, I have not found this alien nor the book he is attached to.

Edit: It's possible the book may have been presented by, edited by etc. or had a foreword by Asimov rather than being "by" him.
His name was prominently on the cover regardless, as far as I can remember.

The background of the book was dark- though I can't imagine that narrows it down much, as it seems like there are an awful lot of scifi covers featuring aliens in loincloths... which I can't imagine is a statement you'd hear very often.

Final Edit:

I found the book, by which I mean I noticed a book on my shelf that was turned around the wrong way, turned it around, and abruptly realized the book I thought I had lost forever had been sitting on my shelf in plain view the entire time.

It's Asimov's Choice: Extraterrestrials and Eclipses.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help me.

Marietta Weaver (griffonmender) | 39 comments I don't think so- unless I had a different version.
The book I had definitely had a green alien.

(I've noticed that different versions of the same cover the figure looks a little more greenish)

John Green | 63 comments I believe (and it's a fairly tenuous belief, based solely on the description!) that this is the 1972 Fawcett edition of The Gods Themselves. That cover isn't very representative of the story, however.

I don't think so- there was only one alien on this cover, and the background was dark.

Please make sure if you find your own book, to add a new comment saying that. If you edit only your original comment no one will know - it doesn't bump the thread.
