Hey. I read this book in 2010-2013 ish (sorry i cant narrow it down better, I'm not good with dates/times in general but it was sometime around the 1st amazon kindle and the kindlefire, because i read it on one of those...). It was probably for teens/young adults. Definitely first of a series, i remember because i was waiting for the second.
(Definitely not Host by Stephanie Meyers, there were no alien parasites, just a heads up. And ive read Immortal by Gillian Shields quite recently so its not that one either.)
Details: Immortals have blue eyes that change color and perfect knowledge. They are made by transferring energy into dying person. The book centered around this girl who basically (i think?) killed herself by walking into the ocean (i forget why). She wakes up on shore where this guy is trying to save her...then she passes out again and wakes up somewhere else.
Savior Guy explains that she's immortal now. There's a scene where they're on a boat and she wears a bikini in freezing water? Anyway Savior Guy explains that they have perfect knowledge. Then he takes her to meet others and she learns food tastes really good. Her and Savior Guy both have light blue eyes but the leader has sapphire and Savior Guy explains its because eyes change when they mate and Leader Guys former mates all died (?) "mysteriously". The Girl gets Betrothed (that was the term used i remember that) to Leader Guy and she and Savior Guy decide to run away and go to see his parents (last name maybe starts with "w"?). They're nice and Savior Guy also has three or so siblings...
They realize that The Girl is a really strong "taker", as in she can take in a lot of energy when she's hurt from other immortals, and Savior Guy is a really strong "giver", as in he can make immortals by himself which you're not supposed to do.
The two of them want to be together but his dad decides she has to marry Savior Guys younger brother and Younger Brother "proposes" with a perfect sand dollar. Thats the end of the book.
i can't for the life off me remember the title or author or character names but i remember all of that lol...please help!!
