– It was made into a movie in 2007

I am putting a tick against just one box with The Namesake. The one I wrote in bold. While I am stating what other boxes could have been ticked. But they are not because what's the fun in that then?

Not boring. I was referring to how the book makes so many readers cry. So if someone's looking for a book to make them cry, The Fault...is there to help.

And embracing the harsh reality of life is all good, but how the book goes about doing it is as divorced from reality as Star Trek.

I know many people love the book. No offence to those who do!

If you watch the movie, you might. It is one of those movies which builds towards one moment, and the directors delivered it well.... wont give you spoilers but it is a must watch... for those into historical fiction or realistic fiction even a bit

message 17: by Jibran (new)

Jibran (marbles5) | 133 comments Zarish, I know of the movie. Didn't know it was based on a book. Probably I won't read it but I will watch it.

message 18: by Narjis (new)

Narjis Naqvi | 713 comments This is interesting challenge, I'll try to follow.
The Faults in Our Stars is may be the best book for crying but its too much real, its exactly how it feels. I've read it twice and thinking to read again, I always feel this book has given words to my feeling.
