Hope this helps! However I don’t want to stress her name being Beatrice as it might not be and I can’t remember any details about publishing as I was younger then and didn’t pay attention to such things. I didn’t borrow this book from the library so I can’t look at the history, which made me resort to reading articles about how to find a book on google and got lead here (I hope this isn’t too much of a hassle!) after failing various times on advanced search.

Please feel free to ask follow up questions and I’ll do my best to answer. In the case of Children not being a genre, I’m not really sure what I’d call it as I can barely remember anything but it definitely wasn’t anything fantasy/sci-fi and seemed to me to be much more set in mundane life.
