I started this book a few days ago and I am finding it fascinating. Julia Whitty scuba dived near the Rangiroa atoll many times, and she writes about specific dives and the various fish, whales, and other sea creatures she and her team encountered. I have looked up several fish already just to see what they look like.
I finished this book and I gave it 4 stars. I will count this for Tuvalu in my around the world challenge even though the part about Tuvalu is only about 1/3 of the book until I have access to a book by a native author. One thing that is amazing is how truly remote Tuvalu is. Page 134
Tuvalu comprises one of the smallest and remote countries on the earth, possessing a combined landmass of ten square miles scattered over 347,400 square miles of ocean - less than half the square footage of Manhattan sprinkled across an area of ocean larger than California, Oregon, and Washington combined.
