I'd love some reviews of my book - I've never formally asked for one. This is the first book I've written. Bird of Paradise has a bit of a unique backstory. My mom began writing the book when she was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer. She passed in 2012 leaving the novel unfinished. She left a letter for me and in it she included a copy of what she'd written and asked me to finish her story with mine. She left me an amazing gift, through which I will forever hear her voice. She dreamed of being a published author. It took me 8 years and it was published on March 29th, 2021 - what would have been her 71st birthday. It is a coming of age family saga and a story of romance and self-discovery. I've been overwhelmed by the messages and reviews I've received in the past few months. I've had people reach out to me who have experienced losing a parent as well, which honors my mom even more than the book itself. It's been an amazing journey.
