AUGUST '21 SERIAL READER CHALLENGE

THE POWER OF WILL:
The ability to choose, lead, and decide.

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AUGUST CHALLENGE:

♦Pick five series that you want to read.

♦It can be a new or an on-going series.

♦Post the name of the series and the covers of at least two books that you have not read.

♦There must be at least two unread books in the series. No re-reads allowed.

♦You may re-post a series chosen before as long as there are at least two unread books.

♦Post series now through July 20th.

♦Pairs will be posted on July 21st.

♦Select a series for your partner between July 21st and 24th...sooner is better

♦Next month, read two (or more) books from the series selected for you.

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Thank you Nell. You must have posted while I was listing my books.
I have a friend, an overseas Ph D student staying with me at the moment. His home is in the tropics, and he’s been stuck in the coldest part of Australia for two years due to COVID.
He was booked to fly home two weeks ago, but passenger flights to his home country were suspended the day before he was due to fly out.
We live in hope he can get home next week, but this involves a three hour trip across a state border which could close at any minute! Several of our states are in various forms of lockdown, and he needs to get two negative COVID tests to travel.

message 46: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell | 794 comments In a prior months post I indicated I hoped to be back for August. Such was not to be as my father the 96 year old WW 2 vet had a stroke on July 3rd. To complicate thing the rehab center the hospital sent him to, damn near murdered him. We got him to the local VA hospital last Friday and he is doing better but will not likely return to his pre-stroke status. Sorry to be such a downer of late. I am still working on my second book from June.

message 50: by Cheryl A. (new)

Cheryl A. (teddi1961) Gary, I am so sorry to hear of the medical issues going on just when you thought things were on the uptick. I can completely understand just what you are going through as I went through that with my grandfather. Once we got him to a good place, he lived an additional 9 years (Half a year prior, when all this started, the doctor gave him 6 months since he had highly advanced prostate cancer - it was traveling all through spine up to the brain.) The point is always think the positive and bring the positive when you visit. They DO feel YOUR feelings! Love and prayers to you, your dad, and the rest of the family. 🤗💖
