It's a book about a group of children, boys and at least one girl. They get lost or hide in a cave for some bad guys. The cave is inside a mountain. The bad guys are coming for them from the valley. They make a lot of spears for defending themselves. They also make a pitfall with a lot of spears and the last bad guy falls into it and gets pierced by those spears. I think I read it around the year 2000 or earlier.
