Christian - Mother separates son from girlfriend by returning his ring that had fallen and she thought was lost

Read this book around 2016. Two high school students meet at a country fair or rodeo and he falls in love right away. She was a few years younger. He gives her his ring. She wears it on a chain and when she is feeding the chickens it falls off in the hay. Her sister tells her she will find it because she needed to go. The sister has agreed to help his mother separate them. The sister finds the ring and gives it to his mom. The son has gone away to college I believe and his mom sends him the ring telling him his girlfriend did not want it anymore. He is heartbroken. He marries someone else (settling) and returns home. They find out much later (I think he has two kids with his wife) what his mom had done.
