YA Fantasy/ Sci-Fi. Teen girl is raised by Monks in the mountains, learns how to use her powers. She receives a letter asking her to go to the city via train. Spoiler ahead.

The book that I am looking for centers around a young adult girl who has been raised in the mountains with Monks, learning how to use her powers. One day a letter is sent for her, asking that she go to the city and train to help them. She takes a train there, and is attacked on the way to the city. She calls on her dogs (hellhounds I believe) to help her, and saves the train. I believe it is a Young Adult book, in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi genres. And I am sorry if this is vague but I can hardly remember anything.
