SOLVED. YA Fantasy. Mystery, magic, good and evil twins. [s]

ok so this book came out a while ago, i know it was at least published before 2016 (that’s when i read it). anyway, it’s about the two twin girls who are separated at birth. they are separated because one is supposedly evil while the other one is good. the good one goes to love with her mother while the evil one goes to live in hiding with her grandmother. the reason that the mom knew who was who was because the grandmother had this “seeing” ability and could tell who was good and who was evil. these twins have magic in them and powers to learn about, and the evil one has dark magic in her, hence her being evil. the reason as to why they were good and evil had something to do with their mother and how she shouldn’t have gotten pregnant by their biological father. and also something to do with them being twins and how it had been a long time since there were twins in the family (i think, i don’t fully remember that bit). anywho, so the twins live their lives, and the evil one learns of her powers (i think) and the good one doesn’t because i think the mom thinks she’s protecting her by not telling her. there’s a prophecy i think and by not showing her daughter her powers the mom thinks she protecting the good twin. the mom visits the evil twin sometimes to see if she’s learnt any magic (i think) and she says she doesn’t know any but she actually does (there’s a scene i remember where the mom is visiting and the grandmother tells the girl to leave the room while her mom is there so that the grandmother and mom can talk to each other, and then the girl wants to eavesdrop so she somehow does this thing where like she’s still in the other room but she can somehow see what’s going on next door. then her grandmother like senses her and looks at where the girl is looking in the room and slams her back to the other room with powers of her own). then one sad and fateful day the mom gets attacked and killed by a group of stray dogs and the twin girls finally meet at the funeral. this begins their journey of discovering who they are and why their mom had kept them hidden from each other. *SPOILER START* as their journey progresses, it is discovered that the grandmother made a “mistake” (she knew what she was doing). it turns out that the “evil” twin was actually the good one and the “good” one was actually the evil one. and on discovering that important piece of information the real evil twin obviously does bad things to try and stay “good” (it’s doesn’t work). and back to the dog attack, the real evil twin was actually responsible for it. they had gotten into a fight earlier about her secret twin and she was mad that her mom had kept this secret from her. *SPOILER END* also two other things that might help: the twins are both redheads i think and the “good” (really the evil) one had a boyfriend that i’m pretty sure ended up leaving her for the “evil” twin. the cover of the book was of one half of the two girls’ faces with red hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. i think i remember the boyfriend having dark black hair. but yeah, that’s all i can remember. it was a good book. help me find it please!! thank you
