Adult Fiction - 3 Impoverished generations in India struggling with life/money

I read a book in 2016/2017 that followed the lives of 3 generations of males (grandfather, father, and son (between 5-10 yrs old)) living in urban India. The books deals a lot with poverty, Indian currency (Rupees), and the daily struggle of finding and getting to work in India. The son narrates parts of the novel, and expresses hatred for their lives, and struggles with money.
*spoiler alert*
The father inherits a sports/clothing store near the end of the novel following the passing of his friend, who owned the store. The store was left to the family by the friend, leaving the family with large sums of money and allowing them to move into a new and bigger apartment. I also remember some kind of violence/shooting in the store that caused the death of the friend. The book also deals with the illness of the grandfather which progresses over time, and his eventual passing at the end.
