I read Sunshine at the Comfort Food Café and I loved it. It's part four of a six part series, which can also be read as standalone books. I love reading about this group of friends who support each other when life is tough and enjoy good times together when they can. The books are comforting. Challenge complete.

Challenge Complete!Keyword - Gone
Book - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Took me a while, but finally got around to reading this one. Was better than expected, see my review here: www.goodreads.com/book/show/44334843
July challenge complete!Keyword--Gone
Book--As Waters Gone By by Cynthia Ruchti
This novel was well written with an excellent sense of place/setting. I was compelled to look up Madeline Island Wisconsin after finishing this book.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED The Forgotten ROAD by Richard Paul Evans
A few years ago, I travelled part of Route 66. Because of that, I enjoyed this book. Not sure I would have otherwise.
3 stars.
Challenge complete.Book: Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church
Author: Rachel Held Evans
Keyword: Search
I appreciated reading another viewpoint of growing up evangelical Christian. I was curious about her (a young woman) perspective on why people (especially younger people) are leaving the church. I was surprised to find out the young author had passed away a couple years ago.
Challenge completed: Keyword: RoadThe Rocky Road to Ruin Meri Allen 7/24/21
Meri Allen 7/24/21The ARC of a new book coming out on July 27 was a fun cozy mystery written by an author I already knew and loved her previous work, only this is under a new name. 5 stars for sure.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED!!Keyword: Search The Searcher
I read The Searcher by Tana French. Suspense/Thriller. Loved it!! Main character is very likable and the story moves along smoothly with great development and page turning suspense.
I listened to
as an audiobook - wonderfully full of hazy memories and harsh tragedy. Reminded me of the atmosphere in The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.
Challenge completed. I read two books: for the word EVER: The happy ever after playlist. This book is what we call a palate cleanser. Every chapter is named after a song. The story is about to persons that had terrible losses in their lives and how a dog brings them together and after some his and downs they have a happily ever after. Love the book.
My second book was also for the word EVER : Never have I ever. was so disappointed with this book that for the first time I rated a book ⭐⭐. Maybe if the title had been different, the book would had made more sense. The dare only happens in the very first chapter and after that is just a person using blackmail to get what she needs.
