Karly | 342 comments Hello! Not a really exciting month for me. Some sub par reads and a lot of comic/graphic novels to mix up the subpar stuff. Hoping July will be better!

The Purgatorio - Dante Alighieri. 2 stars. With audio assistance…

El Greco - Leo Bronstein. 2 stars. Coffee table book

The Rook - Daniel O’Malley. 3 Stars. This had its moments

Star Wars: From the Journals of Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jason Aaron. 4 stars

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Deadl Hands of Shon-ju - Jeremy Barlow. 4 stars.

The Memory Police - Yoko Ogawa. 4 stars. This was really beautiful.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Vol. 3: Remastered - Kieron Gillen. 4 stars.

The Paradiso - Dante Alighieri. 2 stars. Audio assistance..

The Clocks - Agatha Christie. 3 stars. This is a Hercule Poirot book but he is hardly in it… probably the lowest reviewed Agatha Christie book for me.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Vol 4: The Catastrophe Con - Simon Spurrier. 4 stars.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Vol 5: Worst Among Equals - Simon Spurrier. 4 stars.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Vol 6: Unspeakable Rebel Superweapon - Simon Spurrier. 4 stars.

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Vol 7: A Rogue’s End - Simon Spurrier. 4 stars.

I enjoyed the audio version of The Rook though remember it being a bit too long (almost 18 hrs on audio). I just looked at the second book and it over 23 hrs long so I think I will pass.

Karly | 342 comments Definitely thought it was too long, and could have been edited down at places. Interesting concept and some fun details but definitely too long. Likely am passing on the second book as well.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Karly: The Memory Police was a favorite of mine too. I enjoyed The Rook but never got to Stiletto. Someday perhaps, but agreed, 23hours long - yikes! Looked up both, The Rook was over 17 hours.
Lots of good Star Wars reading for you.

Karly | 342 comments Ann- memory police was so lovely, I feel like it evoked a misty hazy feeling.
And yes, Stiletto will definitely not be on the short list for tbr lol

Shomeret | 1490 comments The Memory Police was a powerful book but I considered it a horrific dystopia. So I can't say I enjoyed it.

Karly | 342 comments Shomeret - you’re not wrong! It was a truly eerie and unsettling world. Very disturbing!
