I wasn't sure what Liam would do when he was confronted by Kane. I did not think he would shoot him. Noah had no choice when he shot Liam. It was only a matter of time that Liam would hit Kane's head with a bullet or turn the gun on someone else at the clearing.
Kane seemed to be completely undone when he looked in Liam’s eyes and saw hate. That surprised me, too. After that, I wasn’t surprised when Liam shot him. That gold treasure meant more to him than his brother.
I don't think Kane realized how much Liam really hated him until he looked in Liam's eyes. I don't think Kane thought about Liam and the consequences of Kane's basically firing him at all. To Liam that action festered and became deep hatred. I was surprised Liam shot him. I wish there could have been any other way of disarming him so Noah wouldn't have had to shoot him.
I knew he hated him, but I didn't think he would try to kill him. Liam kept saying he was nonviolent so I was surprised that he turned the gun on Kane.
I get why he had the gun, they probably all had one, they were in hostile territory. There were threats from both humans and animals too.
Dante and Eden were surprised he had one. He supposedly was opposed to violence and didn’t normally carry one (so they said). It was what he said distinguished him from Kane.
I was taken by surprised that Liam shot Kane. I knew he was angry with him, but I thought Liam would come to his senses before shooting his brother. If someone had to kill Liam, I'm glad it wasn't Kane. I don't think he would handle that at all. For Kane, firing Liam was business. Killing his brother would feel like failing his family.
