Australian Short Stories C1990 Multiple Authors

Hi, this is an update to the query with more information - thanks for your feedback...

I'm looking for the title of a book I read in 1990 plus or minus a year. I *think* it would have been published in the late '80s.

It was a number of Australian short stories with a different author for each story. The theme was different perspectives on Australia based on the background of the writer and their initial country of origin. Either themselves or the parents/grandparents, etc.

It included a few powerful stories. One about an Australian family from Malaysia who ultimately identified as Chinese as the grandparents had come from there. Another was a person of Jewish heritage that described a scene where a grandparent was abused by dogs while captive by the Nazi’s. There were many other stories I now do not recall. I would love to read it again.
