July 2021 - Return of the Buddy
Thanks, Jayme! I've been wanting to read that one. It's another that I plan to read every month, then never get to. I'm looking forward to it. :)
@Kay I love the variety in your list... so hard to choose... how about
City of Thieves by David Benioff... I saw you had read and enjoyed some other WW2 novels, and this one's a really good one too!
@ AyaI picked a couple from your list that I really wanted to read and thought you would enjoy too. But I couldn't go past Howl’s Moving Castle so that is my pick for you this month.
I have named two pets from that book (Turnip Head is currently standing 5cms away from my arm preening), so if you want to and haven't read it, I hope you enjoy it as much as me.

I do have to admit I developed the world's best spreadsheet with multiple formulas that pumped out the code for me.
I am stupidly chuffed that my work enhanced Excel skills made my book club life really easy.
Sandra wrote: "@Kathryn,
I hope you enjoy The Lost Man. It is one of the books I suggested to you, and you liked and decided to add to your TBR, so I hope you have a great time reading it as I did."
Thanks Sandra! Very excited to read this and it is also available at my library.

I'm really enjoying seeing all the book picks. It looks like we will have some really good reads this month. :)
@ LilisaI chose The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of a Donner Party Bride for you. I hope you like it as much as I did!
Rusalka wrote: "Esther and Jayme - I will leave you guys to work out viewing of Jayme's shelf. I can't check the link to it as I cannot see it, sorry."I thought that my friends would be able to see it. I switched my privacy setting, so it should be available now. :)

Works for me now, so the link is correct. Yay! Make sure you switch your privacy settings back as soon as you have a book.

Thanks Esther. I'm glad you liked it. I've been wanting to read it for awhile, but just never got around to it. Just put it on hold at my library.

@ SandraI've been debating between a couple of books on your list but have decided to pick The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion. I love the way Fannie Flagg tells a story. I've had it on my wishlist for awhile, so I'll be watching to see how you like it.
@Anne ✨ - you have so many great books on your shelf, it is hard to pick only one, To narrow it down, I decided to choose a Canadian writer, considering we are both Canadian. I hope you enjoy Monkey Beach. I read it a few years ago and gave it five stars.
Kay wrote: "@TrudyAnLoved your list and had a top three so I offer up my first choice for you but if this one doesn't work for you we can try one of the other two.

Lilisa wrote: "@Saar Great list! I chose The Travelling Cat Chronicles since you love cats and it’s one of my very favorite reads. I hope you will enjoy it."
Hi Lilisa, sorry, I've read this one already. I think it might be double on my to read list. Can you pick another? Thanks!
@Anna:I've chosen The Lost Apothecary for you. I've read an extract of the book and found it really good. It's on my to read list also, so I'm curious what your thoughts will be.
@Christina - I choose The Kite Runner for you. This has been on my TBR for a long time. It's of those books that everyone seems to have read but me lol and I imagine you feel the same. Everyone always has rave reviews about it so I hope you really enjoy it! Maybe hearing you're thoughts on it will be the push I need to finally read it too.

Brilliant pick Abby, thanks! I've been temted by that for a while now :-D
@ShirleyMy pick for you is The Dictionary of Lost Words. I decided to go for one I'd listened to already and loved (4.5 star). I was tempted to use you as a guinea pig for that I already own but my better nature won through :-D

@EstherYour self is set to private. Do you want me to add you as a friend or have you change your settings? Thanks!
@AbbyI've looked through your shelf. I really think you should finish the Percy Jackson series, so I pick for you to read The Last Olympian. I hope you like how the author ties everything together.
Emma R. wrote: "@EstherYour self is set to private. Do you want me to add you as a friend or have you change your settings? Thanks!"
$%"%?/%?&/%?& I had changed it and it did not take. I may have failed to prove I was not a robot and did not notice. Try again.

Great pick, Lanelle! After I finish the series I think I'm going to try The Hidden Oracle again. I had a hard time getting into it the last time but I had the same trouble with the Percy Jackson series so maybe it will be different.
