Starr | 1 comments It is set in Cambridge, England I believe; or some other university town. I read it sometime between 2007-2009. The title has “fly” in it I think. The main character (the shrink) relates the killer to this insect I believe. The killer is a young girl around 18-20 who has killed at least one person horrifically and she has DID so she claims it was her protector alter who did it, but it turns out she’s just a sociopath and wants to stay out of prison.

Starr, do you think this might be a non-fiction book? Is it for adults or teens?

Who is a victim early in the story?

"All Around the Town" by Mary Higgins Clark? (I'll add links when Goodreads search is back up...)

KeenReader | 57 comments Is it Twisted Wing? That was published in 2008 and your description sounds like the plot as I remember it.

Edited to add: I think "twisted wing" was the name of an insect or a type of insect, but I can't remember what it had to do with the plot.

Starr, are you still looking for this book - or did you find it?

Kat (tadpoledrain) | 539 comments Based on Starr's description, it's not All Around the Town. In that book the character does have DID (and, spoiler if I'm right, also maybe didn't even commit the murder she's accused of, I can't totally remember but there's definitely something that isn't what it seems with the murder).
