*When I think of beach reads, I think of books that are enjoyable but don’t make me think too deeply, or the next book in a series that I enjoy. Thrillers / mysteries / books by favourite authors definitely fit into this category for me*.
This was book 5 in the Night Soldiers series, and it was just as enjoyable as the previous 4. We continue the story of Jean Casson, a film maker who has become involved with the French Resistance. The author did a really good job of re-creating the tense atmosphere in France at that time, and with the ending, he has quite clearly set up the next book in the series to see how Casson continues as a Resistance fighter. Hopefully I’ll get to this one soon!
