Children’s picture book where a boy and a girl try to escape from monsters I probably read this sometime between 2008 and 2012

I am pretty sure the monsters kidnapped them and that is how they got there, I think they made it out in the end but I don’t really remember. The illustrations were really dark for a kids book if that helps.
