Children's Adventure : Three children join their aunt and uncle in a road trip while a notorious smuggler is at large. Spoilers ahead.

I read this book around 2006-2007, however I think that the book is older than that time. I read it from the school library.

The plot is centered around three children who visit their newly married aunt and the family decides to go on a road trip. The trip happens in America. I remember one of the female children collecting souvenirs like Spanish moss, descriptions of southern breakfast. The family does stop in Niagara falls.

along the same time news of a smuggler is at large and later the children discover that their new uncle is the smuggler. The ending of the novel takes place in the swamps. This is all I remember.

No, Sorry. The other things I remember is that the name of the aunt is Jane and she has a fondness for drinking tea. Blue Grass is one of the souvenirs collected by the elder girl. There are mentions of food items like grits and pecan nuts. 😊
