SOLVED. Kids 8+ historical fiction adventure series with time travelling magic family in ancient Egypt. [s]

I read this book around 10-15 years ago at Girrawheen Library in Perth, Western Australia. This is what I can remember from the book:

- It was funny, the cover art was kind of like Captain Underpants cartoony style.

-The family time travels to different historical periods. The one I read, they travelled to Ancient Egypt.

-The mum is a fairy and the dad is possibly a caveman/werewolf?. There are two kids. There could be other family members (grandmother???)

I'm studying library and information science. Usually i'd be able to find something like this in a heart beat. The fact that I cannot using WorldCat, Google Books etc. has me thinking I might have just imagined this. :(
