Emma | 18 comments The Mysteries of Harris Burdick? It has a bunch of different illustrations, not connected to one story arc, has that exact illustration, but there's no real plot for you to remember.

Emma | 18 comments Happy to help! It always stuck in my memory, too, because I had an English teacher once hand out photocopies of the different illustrations in this book to use as story prompts, and that's the illustration I chose. :)
