Betti, was this a picture book or a child's novel?
It wasn’t a children’s book - I think it was a book of drawings but i don’t remember much text? There was something about the book being dangerous but that was it

The Mysteries of Harris Burdick? It has a bunch of different illustrations, not connected to one story arc, has that exact illustration, but there's no real plot for you to remember.
Yes! I just googled it that’s the exact image thank you! I thought in my memory it was a story book but that’s the exact picture
Happy to help! It always stuck in my memory, too, because I had an English teacher once hand out photocopies of the different illustrations in this book to use as story prompts, and that's the illustration I chose. :)
