Cole’s Epic First Party of the Year

Sasha's face fell when he claimed that he couldn't date her, she tried not to have hurt feelings but it was hard. She felt the tears coming but bit down on the inside of her cheek until it bled so that they wouldn't fall. "Okay," she started backing up, she bumped into someone, "Oh sorry," She said in a squeaky voice, before turning and walking quickly away from Cole, so she wasn't what he was looking for apparently? Sasha planned on going back to her dorm at first, but then remembered the drink in her hand and made up her mind to stay and drink. Cole wasn't going to run her off just by saying she wasn't what he was looking for. She ducked into the other room and drank her drink quickly, swallowing every drop before going to look for more alcohol.

"Wait!" Cole gaped; his stomach sunk at Sasha's tears, he hadn't meant to make her cry. Usually, when girls cried over him he liked it, knowing he held power and popularity. But now, why did Sasha's opinion of him matter? Why did her feelings matter to him? "No, no, I..." She vanished, and then a few minutes later came back out looking for something. He watched, unsure what to do and feeling guilty and horrible. Finally, he couldn't take it, and walked over to her. "Sasha I never meant to hurt you, I'm to protect you, from me. And I...can I explain myself? Please?" He didn't want to talk about it. But if it would spare her feelings, maybe he needed to.

((XD I mean, can she take him alone? He's got some super strength))

(Maybe? Kataera is 7 feet, pure muscle like a lion, claws and extreme senses) (I would call it a fair fight)

Sasha picked up a drink and started drinking it, she saw Cole beelining for her and felt like running instead she stayed still to see what he would say. He was trying to say he didn't mean to hurt her, well how did he think she would feel after he said that? "Stop, just stop. You don't need to explain, I'm not your type, I get it." She downed some more of the drink in her hand, her head was a bit fuzzy now, and she was wondering if this was the best idea. Sasha didn't like that he was here trying to say he was protecting her, if he was trying to protect her he was doing a terrible job. She'd pushed the tears back, but she was starting to feel them coming back.

"That isn't what--" He cut himself off and gently took the drink from her. "Don't...don't do that, you know it won't end well and you've never had alcohol before, you don't know your limits." He set it aside, and turned back around to see tears glittering in her eyes. Cole didn't;t know what to do. He truly didn't want to hurt her, but clearly either options would. Of course he wanted to date her, but he couldn't forget the last time. The last time he was an ass and had--ruined everything. "That isn't what I meant, I don't know my type, I like all girls, okay?" He pinched his nose. "No. No, no, not what I meant--look, I like you, I said I did, okay? Sasha...it's...I had a relationship that went south and I can't risk that happening to you," he finally burst. "I can't risk you getting hurt because of me."

"Oh so you're allowed to drink but I can't? Hypocrite," She said with a huff, Sasha folded her arms over her chest and looked up at Cole with defiance in her face. "You like all girls?" She squeaked, but then he was saying no and the he liked her. It was all so confusing that she wanted to pull her hair out and scream. Then suddenly it all made sense, he didn't want to hurt her, and he thought she would get hurt if they were together. "Well that's silly, have you met me? I don't tend to be in the middle of danger, except in danger of crying because of stupid boys," She looked pointedly at him, "If you like me, and I like you, we should go on a date."

"I know my limits," Cole protested. "Even if I never listen to them. I'm trying to help you." He was at a loss for words when she went off at him; no girls did that, they never did that. Yet here she was, being direct and honest but in a way where nobody was hanging all over him the way girls in clubs tended to do. And it was...nice. The girl he'd dated before had been quieter, not assertive like Sasha, and while Cole was amused to say the least, he also found something startling. He respected Sasha for this. He didn't know why, but he did. Maybe it was after two years of being unable to escape what he'd done, he'd finally realized that he needed to own up to his mistake, and while this situation wasn't that, it was still impacted by his mistake. "It's not silly, Sasha," he whispered. "I almost got someone fired from a job that's kind of hard to get into in the first place," he mumbled. "Actually I did get her sacked, but someone else managed to get her hired again. And I wasn't respectful of her and didn't take responsibility for any of it. You don't want to be with me, how can you? I admit I'm kind of a jerk, you saw me last night. I love my drink and I love pretty girls, and the first of those isn't going away anytime soon. I do like you, I really do. You're assertive, feisty, cute, and endearing. But you don't want to date me. you'll see things that aren't very pretty."

He thought because he knew his limits he knew hers? That just couldn't be true, but she didn't think it was worth the breath to argue over that right then. Instead she left the drink where it was and kept her attention on Cole, he admitted some heavy stuff to her, and she felt herself wanting to reach out to comfort him. Things were obviously complicated, but did that mean they shouldn't try? Why did the past define him so much? Hadn't he heard of Hakuna Matata? She sighed, she had a kind of buzz going and he was ruining it. "You know what? I don't care if you were a jerk, or are a jerk. You don't get to make the decision for me on whether I date someone or not. If you don't want to date me just because you don't like me, fine. I won't talk to you again, but to not date me because you think its whats best for me? Let me decide that!" She jutted out her chin and looked up at him, her eyes fiery, "I can take care of myself." With that she leaned forward, on her tiptoes, and kissed his cheek. "Let me know when you decide to grow up a little bit," She said in his ear before grabbing the drink and going to dance with some random guy.

Cole stared in utter, complete shock. For once in his life when it came to women, he was at a loss for words. So many thoughts ran through his head, but he couldn't grasp one. He'd seen a fiery look in a few girls' eyes once, and twice it hadn't ended well for him. Granted, Sasha wasn't probably skilled in martial arts--actually he didn't know--but he was still stunned, and backed up a little. Maybe he was a little; hurt, too. He liked her; he didn't want to drag her down with his issues, and yet she acted like they didn't matter when they did matter. They mattered to him. And yet she kissed him? And grow up a bit? "Excuse me?" He finally choked out. Nobody got away with telling him off like that! "I never said you couldn't--" He stopped as she walked off. It was useless, but Cole was now angry. He stooped and grabbed a second glass of beer. Fine. If Sasha was going to be like this, he had no reason to remain sober. This was a party and he'd do best to remember that.

Ollie breathed out an, "Oh shit." Before the girl from before was next to him with some other girl in tow. "What do you want?" He asked her folding his arms over his chest, more to protect himself than anything else. The girl behind the one that had kicked his ass poked her head around and glared at him. "And who are you?" He barked, not liking that all of these girls were ganging up on him at once. Where was Rowan anyway? He was supposed to be helping handle this kind of shit.
Pearl did not like the fact that pig was addressing Cal in such a manner, she poked her head out and gave him a good glare, before saying, "Ass hat! Why don't you be a bit more respectful?" She tossed her hair to the side before looking at Cal, waiting for her to make the next move.
Sasha danced with some dude that had really grabby hands, she kept pushing him off though, mostly she was just needing a distraction from Cole. She'd been rejected from him, over and over again. She wasn't sure what to do with that, especially since he seemed to really like her. He had issues, he would have to work through those issues if they were going to date, which she still wanted to do, a pout formed on her face, and she tried walking away from the guy that she'd been dancing with. He grabbed her wrist, Sasha yanked her hand away from him, "Leave me alone," She half-yelled before looking around for someone familiar, but the guy grabbed her around the waist this time, "Look I know you're just trying to be friendly, but I'm about to stomp on your toes," She said and giggled, it wasn't funny, but she couldn't help it. She did indeed stomp on his toes, he released her and she stumbled forward.

Cole, meanwhile, was on his third beer now. Not a great idea. His vision was a it blurred and his head was spinning now, and he searched the room for someone to talk or dance with. His gaze fell on Sasha, watching in rising anger as someone grabbed her many times even after it was clear she didn't like that. Before he knew what he was doing, he went over and grabbed the guy she'd made stagger forward--and oh, how sweet it was that she'd stepped on his feet--and smashed his hand into the guy's nose. "Touch her again and I'll eat your ass," he threatened in a low voice.

Pearl rose both brows when Cal shoved the guy, he didn't seem to like that much, she saw flames in his eyes, actual flames, when she did that. Pearl had to wonder what kind of power this guy had. She moved to the side so that she helped block him in, between the three girls he wasn't going anywhere.
Sasha was just straightening up when she heard a crunch, she looked back to see Cole hitting the guy, it looked like his nose was broken. "Oh my gods Cole," She said and walked over to him, she took his hand in hers to check it, there was slight abrasions to his hand. "Are you okay?" She asked him tenderly, all hurt, worry, and other emotions gone from before. She just wanted to make sure he was okay in that moment, all other thoughts disappeared from her head. Sasha Darling ripped a part of her dress off and used it to wrap around Coles hand, she bandaged it up with a careful neatness that said she'd done this before for someone else. She did have a bunch of Neverland brothers back home that would get banged up all of the time.

She smirked when Pearl blocked him in; was it bad Cal liked messing with him?
From across the room, Rowan had been digging into some snacks and people-watching for fun when he saw the girl Ollie had nodded at. No, wait, he saw Ollie...with the girl. "Oh, no," he mumbled, and ran over, sliding between the brunette and her...roommate? Friend? He didn't know. "Ollie," Rowan greeted. And then looked at the girls; his eyes widened as he followed the brunette's hand. It was on a trigger of a pistol. "O-okay, maybe we can all cool down a little?" He asked desperately. "I'm Rowan, Ollie's roommate."
"You a jackass too?" The girl asked flatly. "Actually, I could background check you."
A shiver darted down Rowan's spine. "What?" He choked. 'Okay, no, I'm not, I'm trying to stop whatever this is!" He gestured between her and her friend and Ollie, madly. "Because shooting someone and burning people will not end well!"
"I already shot him once," the girl replied in the same flat voice as before. "And made him bleed."
In Rowan's humble opinion, both Ollie and this girl were asses, but he didn't voice that aloud.
"Wh--what are you doing? I'm fine, are you okay?" Cole asked in an urgent voice. "That weasel! He should not have touched you!" He swayed a little on his feet, his free hand clenched. He didn't pull away the other hand, though, not when Sasha's touch sent a shiver down his spine in a very pleasant way. He glared at the other guy, who was holding his nose, and gave him a rude gesture. Hopefully he'd take a hint.

Sasha looked up at Cole, his protectiveness sent a zing straight to her heart. "Oh Cole, I'll be okay. Thank you for your chivalry though," She blushed slightly and then made sure his bandage was tight before putting a hand to his upper arm, whoa he worked out. She was steadying him as he didn't seem very sturdy on his feet just then. "Um how much did you drink in the time it took for all of that to happen?" She queried, probably 3 or 4 beers knowing Cole, but it would be okay. She would hang out with him until he sobered up.

"What did you just do?" Rowan gaped, his eyes wide. "You're absolutely insa--" Something pricked into the back of his neck, too, and suddenly he couldn't remember anything except trying to stop a fight between the brunette and Ollie. "Okay, so are we all calm here?"
"Yes, you two were heading out?" Caledonia prompted.
"Oh. Ollie, are we?" Rowan questioned.
Cole looked at Sasha and shrugged. "Um maybe 3 or 4, why? I don't remember, but you're so beautiful and please don't cry, I'll hurt anyone who touches you again," he replied all at once. "And good, I need you to be okay, you can't not be okay," he replied, placing his hand over hers, which was on his arm.

Pearl had been watching the entire interaction with interest, but when Ollie went to move past her, well she just had to do something, so she put her boot right on his toes. “Oops, did I hurt you?” She batted her lashes and gave an innocent expression. She let the second guy pass without incident, he seemed alright, but pig? He was definitely not okay, he was just looking for trouble. “So what did you put in his neck?” Pearl asked when the boys had disappeared through the crowd. She nudged Cal with her shoulder, throwing her a disarming smile.
Sasha was so confused by Cole, but she was also thankful he’d been there to knock the guy around, to prove a point. “Thanks Cole, I’m going to head back to my dorm I think. But I’ll see you around sometime.. I hope. Cole you may want to protect me, but I think you just don’t have the courage to take a chance on us,” Sasha moved her hair out of her face, “When you get the guts to actually date me, let me know. Hopefully I won’t already be involved with someone else by then,” She reached up and poked his cheek before turning to leave, Sasha was tired and she’d been manhandled, and not in a good way.

"What?" He gaped, and shook his head. "No, I...don't leave! And it's not scary, I'm not a coward!" He almost yelled, enraged she had thought that and angry over her words about being with someone else. And yet, and yet...he knew he couldn't date her. "See me around? I-I...I'm trying to keep you from being hurt by me! Why can't you see that?"

“You are a coward though, if you were brave then you would take a chance on us,” Sasha reiterated, she turned and sighed, her eyes big, her expression sorry, “I wish we could just get to know each other, maybe go on some dates, but you can’t do that for me. So I’ll just wait around hoping you come to your senses, at least until I don’t. Look Cole, I know you think you’re protecting me, but you’re really just hurting me, and yourself at this point. I don’t know much about romance, but I know that it shouldn’t be this hard just to get a date,” Sasha walked back to him and leaned her forehead against his chest, “I like you Cole.”

Everything Cole had wanted to say was tossed out the window--all replies, protests, angry outbursts--when she rested her head on his chest. Even in his drunk state, Sasha's actions made his stomach drop and his mind spin (unless that was the beer? He didn't know) and he automatically wrapped his arms around her. "I-I..." What was he doing? her accusations of him being a cowards jumped around in his head. He'd definitely never met someone who genuinely liked him the way he liked her, at least not since Agent Anderson, and that was a whole shitshow to begin with...and Cole honestly could say he stopped having feelings for her long before their relationship was exposed; he had just liked the secretive nature that he now so regretted. And Sasha was so soft, and yet strong. Her determination of him hurting her cut through his heart; that was the last thing he wanted to do. But maybe... "Okay, look, I...I do want to date you," he whispered. "And I do want to get to know you!" He added loudly, too loudly because his drunk self had no volume control. "But you don't understand. Look, how about I take you to dinner tomorrow night and explain? And we can figure out what to do from there?"

Sasha inhaled Cole’s scent, it was almost a woodsy scent mixed with beer, and somehow it made her want to breathe him in more. She clenched her fists in his shirt and tried not to cry. Why was he making this so difficult? They were both quiet a moment, he spoke first, and he admitted to wanting to date her, which was a huge relief. Then he was obnoxiously loud and she jumped out of her skin, but kept her face nuzzled into his shirt as he kept speaking, he wanted to go to dinner? With her? Sasha smiled softly and finally peeked up at him, “Okay, I’ll go to dinner with you,” She wanted to kiss him, like he had her the first day they had met, but instead she opted for just a smooch on the cheek. “You’re sweet Cole, even if you don’t know it,” Sasha removed her hold on his shirt before intwining their hands together, “Lets get you another drink, we both know you need one after all of this. And maybe I can have a tiny one?”

"Yeah?" Her agreement made his heart soar, even if part of him only want it as a test run and am explanation. But what if it worked out, a small voice in the back of his head pressed. Just think...Cole swallowed hard. "I-I...I'm not sweet, you're sweet, like a flower," he murmured, and then took a deep breath, her touch on his hand making him lose that breath. "Okay. Let's do that. I-I mean, get what you want, I just don't know your limits and you don't either."

“Yeah,” Sasha agreed, he called her sweet and she felt the heat in her cheeks, “Me? No not really. I’m just nice…” Sasha gave him a dimpled smile when he said they could get drinks, “I can get a soda silly, “She went over to a table and grabbed a grape soda, her favorite, and popped it open, letting Cole find his drink of choice, she wouldn’t make that decision for him. She had no idea what he liked, and besides she’d already encouraged him to drink more which was probably a bad idea. She felt guilt sweep through her for that, but pushed it aside, she needed to show him she could handle him at any level. If she bossed him around now, or tried to help he would think that she was just trying to change or mother him, neither one was something she wanted.

re my first too. And sure." She easily hopped up to sit next to Pearl on the counter. She sighed and followed Pearl's gaze. "Honestly, now what is he doing?" She mumbled, having seen him punch someone in the nose and then yell something loudly. Clearly, he was drunk, and the guy whose nose was bleeding was also drunk. She should have gone after Cole for that, but in her opinion the asshole who he'd hit had it coming so she didn't. "And...I..." She sipped her cocktail and thought. Surprise her? Caledonia wasn't huge on surprises, didn't trust people enough for them. "Um. Maybe." She knew this was a date. But surprises could go so wrong. She could be walking into a trap. No, that's stupid, get it together, she scolded herself. "Sure. Just give me the general dress code." She was going to have to take some risks, and why would Pearl, why would anyone, lead someone they liked into a trap?
"Oh, soda, yeah..." He trailed off, watching as she grabbed a grape one and feeling cold when she stopped leaning against him. He shook his head. "You are sweet, and nice, and very determined, I'll give you that too." Kneeling, Cole pushed around some ice in a cooler and found another beer. He hadn't actually finished his fourth one yet but was too drunk to recall where he'd put it, and this was colder anyway. "We can have dinner at that Italian place?" He offered.

Sasha didn’t know why he was complimenting her so much, she was just a girl, and he was a boy, and they were trying to figure out how to not make things so complicated. “Sure, I haven’t been there yet. I love Italian though, oh I wonder if they have fried ravioli? I love that, well I like food in general if I’m being honest.” Sasha gave Cole a smile before sipping her drink, she leaned against his side, liking the feeling of them touching in some way or another. It felt natural, and he seemed to enjoy it too, so she went beneath his arm and tucked herself against his side to stay. “Maybe they have Italian Ice there too? That stuff is the best,” Sasha’s mouth was watering just thinking about the food and dessert.

"Well, this is good to know, that you like food," he stated, and then couldn't help himself as he leaned down and whispered, "because I'm a snack." He grinned and then nodded. "Italian Ice? I've never had that, what is the difference between that and, say, Spanish Ice?" He was too drunk to process it was a type of food, really, or to think about it. He automatically wrapped one arm around her, pulling her closer. Oh, this was bad. Around five drinks in and...boom, all reservations about dating her gone.

"Well," Val started. "I have some rules, but we will keep the same general idea. You be my inside person and let all the other boys know I don't take anyone's crap. Also, if I need to beat any of them up and not get in trouble, you better back me up" she grinned. "And, as far as rules go, no flirting," Valerie rolled her eyes. "Whatsoever"

Sasha giggled at Cole's words, he was a snack. She shook her head at how silly he was, she figured it was because he was tipsy, then he was pulling her flush against his body and her cheeks turned very rosy indeed. It was warm to be against him and sent tingles down her spine, she wasn't sure what to do with her hands, so she wrapped them around his waist and let her head fall against him. "We should do parties more often," She said with another giggle, she was trying to keep Cole standing upwards as his balance seemed impaired. "Why don't we find a seat?" She suggested looking around.
(Daphne, I'm going to say they went into the hall, I hope that's okay! Cuz Ollie wanted to get away from Cal and Pearl)
Ollie stopped outside in the hall with Rowan, Val was there and she began saying there were rules, he couldn't understand what she was going on about. "Rules? I don't do rules princess," Ollie stated and began walking away from Val, dragging Rowan along with him, hoping to get away from the vicinity of girls in general for a little while.

Cole hugged her back, enjoying this, and he looked down as her head fell against his torso. The desire to kiss her was suddenly strong, and before he could process it or stop himself, he leaned in and kissed her on the top of her head. "I agree, let's do many more parties," he whispered drunkenly, and then realized what he was doing and jerked upright. She'd said she didn't want him kissing her last night, and he definitely should listen to that after what happened last time he hadn't listened to the girl he was dating. Dating. Oh, this was bad, somewhere in him he knew that. And yet another part of him feared that if he didn't date Sasha, he would come to regret it. "Hmm? A seat? Oh, okay." He pulled away from her, looked around, and then sat down on the floor. "Found one."
Rowan gaped as Ollie started dragging him down the hallway, stumbling over his feet. he pulled out of his roommate's grasp, a sense of foreboding tangling in his gut. "What are you doing?" He asked, haling in the hallway. "I get it, you're angry, but maybe you should cool off some steam outside or something?" Truthfully he did not want Ollie going off when they got back to their dorm room.

Sasha about died when he kissed the top of her head, it was so sweet. She smiled up at him shyly, "So where are we going to si-?" She was cut off as he just sat on the floor itself. Oh no, how was she going to get him up from there? "Um... maybe a chair? That's what I was thinking, I really don't want to sit on the floor..." She didn't know what to do with Cole now, he would probably be on the floor for the rest of the night.
(I'll reply with Ollie when Daphne replies)

"Oh." Cole looked up at Sasha and smiled. "Sure but are there any chairs? I would like a back rest...but also getting up can be so hard." And yet even in his drunken stupor he didn't want to make Sasha sad, he genuinely liked her, so he signed and pushed up a little to stand. Cole had to grab a desk nearby to get himself to sit up alright, and his head spun as music swam in his head when he was fully on his feet.
((Okay!))

"If no rules, I'm walking away right now" Valerie said, turning away from him, acting like she was going to leave. "Also, who are you?" she asked the other random person. "And you never answered my question before, how did you know what my name was?"

"Its comedy action, its a classic. We should definitely watch it," Pearl curled hair around her finger, "Oh we could certainly make time for lessons," Pearl was all too eager to teach Cal, she could imagine being behind her and wrapping her arms around Cal and helping to grip the sword, or pulling an arrow back with her, they would be so close in both cases. She snapped out of her reverie when Cal began talking about how competitive she was. It would suck if Cal forgot it was just for fun and actually killed her or maimed or something. But then again, she doubted that Cal would ever do that, she had more faith in Cal than that. But she did imagine some rough and tumbling going on, that would be hella fun. "Well I think it'll be a lot of fun, we can get down and dirty and then go grab some food from a food truck or something? Unless you want to get cleaned up first and then go get food." Pearl was watching Cole with the girl that he was with, it was interesting watching the events unfold, he seemed thoroughly drunk, and she seemed very sober. If he tried anything, she knew that her and Cal would be on him in seconds.
"Well I don't want you to, oh!" Sasha reached to steady him, "I don't want you to fall silly. Okay, there's a bed right over there, think you can make it?" Sasha held his elbow and began the shuffle over to the bed, hopefully they wouldn't end up sprawled on the floor, or if they did end up that way, then she end up on top so she didn't get hurt. "You got this Cole," She said encouragingly as he swayed some, where were his friends? Why was she the only one helping him? This was his party after all, no one here wanted to help? That was fine, she would clear everyone out then, right after she got Cole in bed.
"No rules, and leave him alone. I don't do rules princess, never have, never will. Just ask the girl inside," Ollie put on a stubborn expression, "I heard your name yelled down the hall. What's the big deal? Why do you girls want your names to be so mysterious? It's annoying."

"Rowan," he stated awkwardly. "Ollie's roommate." Unfortunately, he added in his head. "You don't have to be so demanding. What's your name?"

Cole looked at Sasha and then at the bed as he staggered and she helped him over. "Will we cuddle like last night?" He asked in a sluggish voice, but before anything else could happen, he felt someone else grab his arm in a very strong grasp, almost pinching, and whirled around. "Hayden!"
"We're ending this party, you're very very drunk!" Caledonia snapped.
"No!" Anger flashed in Cole's eyes. She was ruining his time with Sasha! He swiped at Hayden, but she blocked his blow and slammed her fist under his jaw.
"Rogers. End it now."
Cole looked from her to Sasha, and then at another girl near the agent. "Who's that?" He asked with a slurred voice. She was gorgeous.

"A date?" Cole was frantic now. Panicked. Sasha was darling, sweet, confident, and endearing, and he really liked all of that about her. No, he liked her. "I-I-I can't date you," he choked out. "It would only end in disaster, I..." Cole looked around the room, the lights the music, the people and alcohol and food. All of it swam together, and for once in his life he wanted to escape the party scene. It was too noisy and crowded, people pressed against his back and sides. He took a long swig of beer, maybe too big, as it stung his mouth and the back of his throat as he swallowed. "It's a bad idea, a very very bad idea," he whispered, even though he wanted to smile when she poked his cheek. He had sought her out, invited her here. And now was saying no to a date when he'd admitted he liked her.
