Ad a government agent, she'd shoved aside romantic feelings for a few years now. They'd never been serious before, though, so it never really bothered her. But for someone to show affection to her? This was new and...part of her liked it but part of her was cautious. Nobody had said she couldn't date anyone...and yet the affection was not familiar to her. Cal was conflicted as she scanned the room. She saw Cole still talking to Sasha, Alya speaking to twins, and Bailee was gone. She pulled out a device and tapped on it. Bailee was in her room. She put it aside and looked up with a sigh, at the people and the chaos and smell of too much beer. And what's when she saw Ollie; he'd looked at her, and then away. Her jaw clenched and she turned away from him.
"It went up your nose?" Cole asked with an amused smile. He shouldn't be so amused, this was bad. But Sasha was naturally charming and sweet and-- "Oh. The walk? Yeah, we can...we can do it later if you want, if your roommate is still here," he offered with a small smile, even though everything in him told him a walk, sober, with a girl was a bad idea. Sober. He froze and glanced down at the beer in his hand. This was his first beer tonight. His first? That was shocking. And unnerving.
Rowan gaped and staggered from Ollie's back slap, having to grab a wall to steady himself. "Yikes, you're strong," he groaned. "And...no, really, I'll just have a water or a soda," he stated, grabbing a soda from the cooler and opening it. "And yeah I'm here, had to keep an eye on you." When Ollie pointed out the girl, Rowan eagerly followed his gaze. A taller, muscular brunette stood near a wall, arms crossed and looking at everyone with an almost critical, analytical gaze, very watchful. He turned back. "She looks kinda pissed."

He decided it wasn't this persons business to know what Andronika's abilities were, but before he could stop her Andronika was already rambling.
"I can see faint strings," "It's really cool!" she exclaimed.
Alger groaned and put his face in his hands, as Andronika started to elaborate on his abilities.
"Alger can control weapons and as many as he wants at once," Andronika said.
"Okay, let's not bore her to death," Alger said trying to silence her before she explained everything else they could do.
Kataera looked at Klaus, she smiled trying to be friendly, since she thought it would polite rather being showing how she was feeling about the entire experience.
"It's good, how about you?" she asked.
She tied her hair back since it had fallen into her face, her cat-like ears poked out slightly. Kataera had avoided the drinks so far since she'd had some before but it had been way too bitter for her liking.
Alya turned to Alger with a raised red eyebrow. "Not bored, it's fascinating." She finished off her beer and set the empty bottle aside. She wanted more information out of curiosity; she'd never heard of abilities like that before. And yet...for some reason, she was amused at Alger. "You don't trust me, do you?" She asked, reading his body language and words.
"I don't trust anyone frankly," he said, looking at her.
His eyes seemed to have a flicker of fire in them, and Andronika put a hand on his arm, which calmed him quickly.
"Sorry," "He's like this often," Andronika apologized.
Alger had more aggressive abilities compared to Andronika. The powers being more related to his father's and Andronika's her mother's.
"Fair enough, it takes me awhile too. But wow, you don't have to get so enraged, we're just talking." She turned to Andronika. "It's fine. But I guess flame-eyes means I should head off and find others to talk to. Nice to meet you, Andronika."
Alger took a drink of his soda,
"Nice to meet you too," Andronika said and smiled at Alya.
The two watched her go, and once she was far enough away, Andronika punched her brother in the shoulder,
"Be nice would you," Andronika scolded him,
"You said too much," he replied and got another punch to the shoulder.
Alya walked over to Caledonia, who, per Rowan's observation, did look a bit pissed. "Hey," she greeted the taller girl, and Cal turned.
"Alya. Hey. How's the party treating you?"
"I dunno. I like the music and the drinks. You?"
"You know I'd rather not be here at all. But Cole and Bailee."
With a nod, Alya leaned back against the wall. "Are you going to even try to let loose a bit?" She asked.
"Damn it, you're like the third person to tell or ask me that. And yes, okay? I'm waiting on my roommate to bring me a cocktail."
"Oh, good." Alya smacked Cal's muscled shoulder. "See? Not that hard to live and be normal for once, is it? So, how's the roommate? Tolerable?"
Caledonia grunted. "Yeah. She's actually badass, I like her a lot." She didn't look at Alya as she spoke, and thoughts of Pearl, who was sassy and cute, too, made her cheeks go warm. She hoped Alya would think it was flush from a crowded room and maybe a beer.
The shorter redhead nodded. "I'm with Bailee. How in the world I got stuck rooming with her I have no idea."
"I know. And because the school hates you? I swear I don't know how that happened."
Alya rolled her eyes. "Of course you know. Mind if I just chill here for a bit?"
"Nope. You and Pearl are the only tolerable people here, so please, join me. I'm not doing much."
"Sounds good."

Pearl was moving her hips to the beat of the music as she practically danced around the kitchen making Cal's drink, she eventually finished, but she'd made extra so she left it in a pitcher on the counter. It would taste sweet and fruity, hopefully Cal would like it. She went to return to the other girls side and noticed someone else had joined Cal, hmmm, she wondered who the other girl was, and if she had competition. She swept in smoothly and put one hand lightly on Cal's arm, "Here ya go," She said and handed her the drink, "Who's your friend Cal?" She asked with a smile. She wasn't going to make any judgements until she knew who the girl was.
Sasha looked around for Kataera and eyed her with a boy, oh really, now what was going on there? She raised a brow and sent a questioning look her friends way. Then she returned her gaze to Cole, who was pretty much perfect, minus the drinking problem. "I'm going to grab some of that," She said eyeing the pitcher that some girl had just made, "It looks sweet." She slipped past Cole and went to get a cup, she found one easily and poured some of the icy drink into her cup, it was bright red, she took a sip, the alcohol was barely noticeable and it tasted sweet! She returned to Cole, "See this is what I was talking about," she said and clinked her glass against his beer, "To tonight! That we have fun, and make new memories." Sasha let herself be close to Cole as she drank her drink, if she was going to drink she might as well have fun doing it.
Klaus wasn't sure why, but he got the feeling that this wasn't exactly Kataera's cup of tea. "You good?" He asked, "Tell me the honets truth, I don't care if you don't like it. If you don't want to be here we could go somewhere else," This was his dorm but that didn't mean they couldn't go somewhere else. Maybe her dorm? Or out on the terrace again? "I was going to ask if you want a drink, but you're not looking like your having fun right now."

"I know she looks mad, hence the reason I'm over here, and she's over there, and I'm ignoring the hell out of her," Ollie righted Rowan, "Sorry bout that mate." Ollie didn't dare glance back at the girl, instead he went ahead and grabbed a beer and cracked it open, "I don't know why you can't have a beer and babysit me at the same time," He complained, giving Rowan a look that said he wanted Rowan to drink with him. "It won't be as fun if you're not drinking too. I swear I'm not going to do anything stupid, unless someone else does something stupid to me first."

Kataera was happier thought now that Klaus was there she didn't want to be alone since it made her feel like she stood out and that was something most people she assumed hated.
She snorted a bit,
"Yeah, I mean I'm not thirsty so, I'm fine at the moment," "Do you enjoy these?" she asked motioning to the dorm room of people.
The twins continued to argue about something pointless when Alger spotted Rowan, the guy that had told him about the party in the first place. Andronika followed her brother's eyes till she could see Rowan as well, she hadn't met him before, or she didn't remember at least. She feels like she knew the boy with Rowan thought, but couldn't place the face she was seeing.
"Hey, Rowan," Alger said with a wave, and Andronika smiled.
"Huh?" Cal was a bit distracted when Pearl returned, and jumped when she placed a hand on her arm, but then she looked at her and the bright drink in her hand and smiled. "Oh, thanks, really." She took the glass from her, now a little surprised--and worried--by the warmth sizzling through her at Pearl's touch, and then blinked once. "Oh, this is Alya, a friend from home."Alya stuck her hand out. "Nice to meet you. Caledonia's like a sister to me. Are you the roommate she was saying was badass?" She then turned to Caledonia. "So. 'Cal', huh? I thought that was--"
"Alya," Caledonia snapped, and Alya smirked but didn't retract her words.
Cole was honestly surprised at Sasha's willingness to let loose a little, but he wasn't going to complain unless she started to get herself very drunk; for some reason, as often as he encountered drunk girls, there was something protective he felt towards the brunette, and half of his didn't like it at all. Even so, her charm was so obvious with how easy-going she was being and with how eager she was with the sweeter drink, and he let himself clink his bottle against her drink, and lifted his as well. "To new memories," he echoed. That wouldn't be all so bad, would it? He then smiled a little. "Is this your first full alcoholic beverage? Ever?
"That's a fair point. I don't really think I want to see an interaction between you two," Rowan mumbled, and then shook his head and sighed. "Because if I get so drunk then I can't focus on what you're doing, and if you do interact with this girl, I need to be there to cool things down should you get a little...forward. Which you probably will anyway, drunk or not. And I don't believe that for a second," he grumbled with another sigh, crossing his arms. "I'm kind of drinking, I have a soda." He nodded at one of the desks, where he'd set down a fizzy, sugary soda.
He then heard someone call his name, and he looked around until he spotted Alger and Andronika. Andronika, right. Maybe if he spoke to them, he should leave Ollie's side first. He didn't want to see what would happen if those two spoke. So he lifted a hand in greeting. "Hey," he called back with an easygoing smile, hoping to get away from Ollie long enough to go say hello.

"Hi, you're Rowan right?" she said and smiled.
Andronika looked over at her brother who sat quietly on the floor, both his and his sister's soda on the ground next to him. He waited for his sister to hurry up and invite Rowan to join them. Andronika could tell slightly what he was feeling by use of her abilities.
Rowan smiled. "Yeah! And you're Andronika, I remember that. How have you been?" He asked, purposely not introducing Ollie and Andronika and positioning himself between them.
"I am," she replied, "I've been good, yourself?" she asked.
Andronika didn't mind, she personally wasn't exactly open to talking with the other either, she could sense a darker ora from the boy and that made her a bit weary of him anyway.
"I'm glad to hear that, I'm...I've been okay. New year at school, so that's fairly exciting."
"Wonderful," she smiled, Andronika was one of those more friendly people, clearly.
She rocked back and forth on her heels, and looked at Alger, then back at Rowan,
"Care to join us?" she asked, referring to her and Alger.
Both of them were still sober, thanks to the other and it was clear neither intended to drink anything alcoholic.
"Oh, sure, I'd love to, thanks." Rowan turned to Ollie. "I'm going to talk to some people I know from last year, but I'm still watching you," he told his roommate, and then smiled at Andronika. "Lead the way."
Andronika waved to Ollie, deciding to be friendly, and walked back over to Alger motioning for Rowan to follow. She sat down with her brother legs crossed,
"What's up?" Alger said with a small wave to Rowan.
Rowan sat down next to them after he took his soda from the desk. "Hey, Alger. Not much just settling in. How about you? I hope everything's been alright?" He offered, taking a sip of his drink and then setting it aside.
"All's good and going well," he replied, "Glad to hear things are going well yourself," he adds.
Andronika took a drink of her soda,
"Who's that you were talking to?" she asked out of curiosity.
Alger looked over Rowan's shoulder at Ollie, he didn't like the boy just by looking at him and made a note to keep Andronika away.
"Good, good," Rowan stated, and me meant it. He liked it when people he considered friends or acquaintances were doing well. "Thanks. oh, and that's my roommate, Ollie. Don't engage, I'm serious. Andronika, especially not you, he sees women as literally existing for his pleasure and company and flirts with them and thinks all are attracted to him. Someone shot him earlier and beat him up, and I'm trying to talk sense into him but he's really...he's a jerk despite all that. I'm serious, ignore him."
Andronika nodded listening, she didn't plan on talking with the boy if she could help it. But once she heard his name that's when it dawned on her,
"Alger, isn't that Hades' son?" she asked her brother,
"Actually, yeah," he replied. "Yeah, always a jerk," Alger confirms.
He personally remembered watching Ollie talk to some girls and it had been - disgusting - to say the least.
"Don't worry, I'm staying clear," Andronika assured.
Rowan leaned in. "What, he's Hades' son? Oh gosh this suddenly makes so much more sense. I mean he has no excuse to do what he does but that still makes sense, disgusting."
The twins nod trying to keep their voices down, they didn't need Ollie joining the conversation about him. Both siblings knew that it would be awkward and Alger didn't want Ollie close to the overly trusting and love absorbed Andronika.
"Exactly," Alger said.
With a huff, Rowan leaned back against the bed. "To be honest," he added quietly, "I'm really only here to keep an eye on him, he has some crush on some girl he doesn't even know the name of and I'm kinda trying to stop him before he says something to get his ass kicked again." He shook his head. "Wait, do you know Ollie from home? That just be miserable."
"That sounds miserable," Alger commented taking a drink of soda.
Andronika nodded in agreement, she would not have wanted to come for the reason, not in a million worlds. It would have been terrible.
"Yeah, our parents are Ares and Aphrodite," "So we see him sometimes, but rarely," Andronika explained.
"It is. Babysitting people who shouldn't need it? And him? Horrible."Rowan stared. "Oh that's right, I think you did mention that last year. I'm sorry, I bet at large gatherings that really sucks," he murmured.
Why did it seem like she'd just interrupted a conversation, Pearl rose a brow, but kept any comments she had to herself. That is until Alya was introduced, she nodded her head at the other girl, "Pearl, nice to meet you. .. Badass? Yeah definitely me," Pearl threw Caledonia a grin. Wait there was something about calling her Cal? Was that not allowed or something? Pearl was definitely curious now, she wanted to know what this was all about. "What's wrong with Cal? Did I say something I wasn't supposed to?" She asked raising both brows this time. Caledonia was a hairs breath away from her, and she was tempted to reach for her hand again, but she wasn't so sure with her friend right there, would Cal be self-conscious?"Um yes? Is that bad? I've never drank before, my parents sheltered me a lot, and I've never been to a party either... I've never been to a school until now," Sasha was rambling but she didn't seem to notice as she took another sip of her drink, Sasha was absorbed with Cole, and didn't notice anyone else in the room. It was just the two of them to her, she was glad that they were getting to spend time together. Kataera seemed to be having a good time, so why shouldn't she? As long as she stayed in a public place with the boy and didn't get completely drunk, then things should be fine, right? "Do you like me?" She asked innocently.
Ollie wasn't sure how to react to Rowans words, so instead he guzzled the beer down and grabbed another. Rowan seemed to go off in his own bubble with some other people anyway, so he decided to have a good time all on his own. He found a girl that was dancing and went up behind her to dance with her, she seemed willing, so he put his hands on her hips and danced against her, that is until she turned around and slapped the hell out of him. "What?" He asked a bit stunned, "Jerk," she said before walking away. "Not my day," He muttered before going back to where he'd been standing, what happened to all the willing girls that flocked to his side?
"Do I enjoy parties? I don't know, I guess. It's all about the vibe I suppose, what about you? How are you liking it so far? Do you want a snack? I could get you some food if you're hungry," Klaus just wanted to be helpful, and he certainly didn't want Kataera to be hungry, thirsty, or bored at this party. He wanted both of them to have fun while they were there. The two of them were at a party together, did this count as a date? He wasn't sure, nor was he sure if she was interested in him like that, but he was willing to take a chance and ask her about it, later. When he'd had a few beers in him to give him the courage he would need to ask such questions.

Andronika nodded, and Alger elbowed her,
"Sort of like what our brothers do to you," he joked, and she elbowed him back,
"Shut up," she told him, but she was smiling.
The two look back at Rowan as he continued talking, and Alger shifted in his seat on the floor.
"Well we don't see him often, and I think at least we do tend to avoid him if that's the case," Alger states.

Kataera looked at him when he asked if she wanted something to eat, she sat for a moment feeling a bit awkward about the question. Since she only ate meat, and never touched fruits, dairy, vegetables, or bread.
"I'm good unless you have anything just meat," she said, she put her hand on her neck feeling a bit ashamed for saying it.

He rose both brows at her choice of food, "Okay, well let me see if anyone brought meat, I'll be right back," Klaus went to look for her something to eat. Luckily someone had brought fajitas, so there was steak. He loaded some up on a plate and brought it back, "Here ya go," He wasn't sure if she was really hungry, or just slightly, it was better to be safe than sorry. "It looks good," He commented as he handed her the plate.
"Don't worry, you don't need to," she said, she didn't want him to worry about her since she was fine.
"Thanks," "Sorry if that was a weird request," she apologized, "You can have some if you want," she said, and took one with a smiled from the plate and offered him the choice of having one.
While she ate, her paws flexed on the ground and her tail twitched, feeling like this was the most awkward she had ever felt.
Klaus wondered what was going through Kataeras mind, she didn’t look happy per se, and he wanted her to be happy. “Oh thanks,” he said in response to her offering him food, he took a piece and popped it in his mouth, it was juicy and tasted really good. “Do you wanna go for a walk?” He figured maybe she could use a break away from the party. Maybe that would make her relax a bit more. Ollie noticed Valerie and blanched some, “Oh yeah. Hey,” he tried to play it off like he had meant to invite her, “I was trying to find you but couldn’t. So I figured you would get here in your own, how ya been Val?” Ollie gave her one of his charming smiles. Was she mad? She looked mad, which meant he was in trouble.
Kataera had finished hers, they had been really good in her opinion. When he offered to go for a walk she jumped up,
"I'd love to," she replied, smiling.
It was clear, she enjoyed that more than she did the party at the moment.
"Sure ya did" she said glared at him. "Also, I don't remember telling you my name" she took a deep breath, trying not to slap him across the face. "I think we can compromise"

"I think that's a good idea," Rowan agreed with a sigh and a head shake.
"If he's a jerk to you, just text me," Alger said.
Andronika saw that had a big fight that would end terribly, but she decided not to say anything, taking another drink of soda.
"Don't be reckless though," Andronika warned her brother,
"Ronnie, I wouldn't," Alger replied.
"Nice to meet you, too," Alya stated, then nudged Caledonia. "I'm going to leave you hanging on this one, see ya around."Caledonia hissed at her, and Alya just laughed and moved on through the crowd until she couldn't be seen anymore. Cal turned to Pearl. "No, I...Cal is fine, it's just not many people call me that and usually they get permission to? I guess I just don't have a ton of friends. It's usually just Alya and two others from home, really. I'm...Agent...to pretty much everyone else, and obviously a different nickname sometimes to my mom, but..." She shrugged and took another sip of her drink. "You can call me Cal, I don't mind. Alya's being a little shit," she mumbled.
Cole was caught off guard by Sasha's last question. He had never been to school before, either, only online classes, and was about to respond as such when she tossed the Question. He froze. His mind spun, his stomach dropped, mouth went dry. "Do you like me?" It was a loaded question, three small words. He couldn't. He couldn't like her, not after last time. "I-I can't. I mean, I shouldn't. I do. I do and I shouldn't," he choked out.

"That's good, everyone has a softer side," Andronika replied.
It was a strength of Andronika's, she believed everyone had something good about them and that you shouldn't judge too quickly. But that probably was also a weakness, since she was overly trusting.
"Andronika don't go trying to make friends with him, please," Alger requested,
"No promises," Andronika replied.
"I'm with your brother on this one. I mean obviously I'm not in charge of anyone I just really recommend not being around him." He shrugged.
"I can handle him," she said, "But I will keep my distance if I think I need to," she adds.
Alger nudged her roughly in the shoulder till he almost knocked her over from her seated spot on the floor.
"Don't be stupid," he tells her firmly,
"I won't!" She replies.
Delilah walked in nervously. She looked around and didn't recognize anyone.

The twins argued for a few minutes about being stupid, which in the end Andronika won the argument.
"Remember when you walked into the glass door and Aunty's," she reminded him smuggly,
"Hey!" "I thought we weren't going to mention that," he said frowning,
"Yeah, but-" she was about to elaborate,
"You promised not to," he said.
She shrugged and Alger leaned on the wall with a frown taking a drink of his soda setting the bottle on the floor next to him.

Pearl held back a laugh, Caledonia seemed so upset that Alya had said anything, it wasn't a big deal, at least not to Pearl. "Okay, Cal," She purred in Cal's ear, then took her hand, "Lets find you a soda and something to eat. You don't need to be looking at those dolts right now, its not like they're doing anything interesting at the moment anyway," Pearl pulled Cal into the kitchen where some snacks were out, "Here," She handed Cal a bag of chips, "And this," She gave her a pack of cookies too. Pearl found them a corner where if you put your back to the corner you had a great view of the whole room. "Perfect," She said and plopped down, she pulled Pearl down into her lap.
Sasha had a myriad of emotions flit across her face as Cole tried to figure out if he liked her or not, but in the end she was smiling because Cole said he liked her, even if he shouldn't. Why he shouldn't wasn't explained so she was a bit confused about that part, but she was ready to bombard him with more questions, so in the end she would know everything. "Okay, you like me. Do you like me enough to go on a date? Is this a date?" She poked his cheek for emphasis, wanting him to know she was asking this all good naturedly.
Klaus took Kataera's hand led her out of the room, they walked down the hall, which was almost as crowded as the dorm itself. It was like the dorm was spilling out into the hallway. "Wow, I didn't realize so many people would show up," He admitted and headed towards the terrace where they would have more privacy, and perhaps could get some fresh air. He had a feeling that Kataera was more uncomfortable than she was letting on, but he wasn't about ot push her on the subject.

She'd only seen so many people in such a small place a few times and realized that this was for sure not her type of gathering. She preferred a smaller gathering, it was calmer in her opinion. Once they were on the terrace she took a calming breath, it was more open and far less stuffy, the air wasn't heavy either which helped. Kataera was visible more relaxed even if she was with someone she was starting to find kindling feelings for.
