Jessica | 62 comments I remember reading this book in 2015-ish, it was about a group of girls who were actually androids / robots, living on an island alone with two researchers. They look almost identical except for having different hair colors. They have very specific daily routines, pretty simple and happy lives, exploring the island and learning, and don't really question their lives, until a human girl washes up on shore, and starts questioning their world. I don't think it was a cliché science-fiction novel, the researchers weren't the villains nor did they seem to have tricked or forced the girls to stay on this island, they were nice and tried to answer any questions they had, and were actually trying to protect these girls, I think that somehow the boat carrying the android girls shipwrecked onto this island (?) though that may be something I've misremembered.

The conflict in this story happened when there was a fire (?), and the girls have to leave the part of the island where they were staying, I remember that either one or both of the researchers died in the fire, as well as one of the android girls.

The cover had a stark white android / robot- type face on it, and the side of it was a bright neon yellow / green. The book was from the perspective of one of the android girls, and I remember that the language use was very unique, everything was described in really great detail.

Thank you in advance.

Jessica | 62 comments Oh, and I remember in the author blurb in the back, the author mentioned that this book was originally a screenplay, so that might narrow it down. I don't really remember if it was *adapted* from a screenplay, or if it just started as a screenplay.
