Sean’s girlfriend from Stanford, Madison McAllister Spade, shows up on his doorstep demanding help in finding her husband and son, Jesse. He learns that Jesse is his son. First, your thoughts about Madison’s choice to keep him secret from Sean? Second, your thoughts about his reaction in learning the news?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments She was a selfish, weak, egoistic, narcissistic bi**h. She obviously didn't care a whole lot about Sean. Madison only cared about what was good for Madison and pleasing her daddy.

Sean is shocked, really shocked. His life is darn near perfect and now it is all upset.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Madison should have told Sean that she was pregnant. Who cares what her father wanted.

I can understand Sean's reaction to hearing the news. He was very mad. Who could blame him. And, he didn't know how to tell Lucy. But, he should have told her before he left for Mexico.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I've mentioned before that the secret baby/child is my least favorite trope. Madison is the type of person who would hide a pregnancy from the father to keep her father happy. She claimed to be upset that Sean was expelled.

I could buy keeping the secret for a short time while Madison figures out what happened with Sean. It didn't take long before it was known that Sean was trying to exposed a pedophile. Sean was a hero in my opinion. Madison never redeemed herself. She was selfish throughout the story.

I understand Sean's anger. Twelve years is a long time to hide a child from his/her biological parent. These secrets always come out eventually especially with all the DNA companies around.

I understand that Sean needed to take a few hours to wrap his head around the fact that he has a child. Lying even by omission is never right. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I love that Sean kicked Madison out.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I never agree with someone who keeps a child from someone else. I think it's selfish. I do, though, understand the situation she was in. It's possible that she could have come to Sean sooner with the information.
Sean's reaction was typical. He was shocked and mad. I realize that things were hectic at the time, but he really should have pulled Lucy aside and told her.

Unless it’s a safety issue, I can’t support decisions to keep a child from his/her father. Madison supposedly “loved” Sean but was willing to do something so cruel. I don’t care how “immature” she thought he was, he deserved to know he has a child on this earth once he was born.

Sean’s reaction was natural. He should have been angry and I liked that his first thought was to want to embrace the child. I’ll never understand why he didn’t tell Lucy right away and was disappointed when he didn’t before he left town. I was surprised to learn how insecure he was in the relationship, enough to think he might lose Lucy. That was a revelation.
