Just to clarify the qualification for Cap, it has to be something specially designed to be worn on the head to work. So a hood would not work - it is just an attachment to an article of clothing. (And to be honest, most of us rarely use the hood!) Same with most scarves over the head - that isn't the main purpose. It would have to be a hat, cap, helmet or something like that.

I've also been getting some questions about the qualifications for City in regards to SH books. To be honest, I can't find anywhere in Colorado that would work except Denver. And believe me, I've tried!Your best bet if you can't find a book set in Denver is going to be looking for books with two settings. Perhaps someone from Chicago or New York that heads west to Colorado for some reason. Or maybe someone who leaves Colorado to go further west to San Francisco. Or of course a book written by a Colorado author.

Thanks Kat!"
I hope I don't regret this! I'm going to say that is a crown and it works. I will allow crowns, they are more than just jewelry or adornment, but it has to clearly be a crown - not a tiara as they are often just jewelry.

Laura wrote: "What about Colorado Springs? It currently has a population of nearly 500,000."I've read through the history sections of the wiki pages for many Colorado cities. A case could be made for Colorado Springs, Boulder and Fort Collins - it is a real stretch for the latter two. But I will allow those as well.
Could I use this list for colorado: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1... ? and for cap would something like a catcher's mask (baseball) or a goalies mask (hockey) work? A motorcycle helmet?

Yes, that list will work.
For Cap, those things listed should work as well.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Would the skier's headcovering on
count for cap?"Yes, that cover would work.
So many teams are right on the edge of another Serial Dating Rose - I'm excited to see if they get it!
Hey all! I actually got my hubby to agree to go play for a while today! I will answer any questions later, but the task will be posted on time. 😊

MountainKat wrote: "Posted from the San Diego Safari Park - where we went “to escape the heat”?! 🥵😂"LOL! I grew up right near there and the heat is definitely a lot. At least it doesn't have the hills of the SD Zoo
MountainKat wrote: "Posted from the San Diego Safari Park - where we went “to escape the heat”?! 🥵😂"Been there before, for the same reason. It's not as cool as you would hope! But a great experience nonetheless! :)
MountainKat wrote: "Posted from the San Diego Safari Park - where we went “to escape the heat”?! 🥵😂"Lol! We were at the LA Zoo yesterday and it was HOT but I know San Diego can get even hotter!
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Would the Crown on The model's tattoo count for cap?
"I don't think this matters anymore, but that would not work. It doesn't represent the actual crown, it is just part of the tattoo design. It is more symbolic that representing a head covering.
Thanks everyone! I live in the mountains and we actually have a heat advisory at home, so it was really the same temperature down in the valley as it was at home. It was more fun there though! 😊Amanda, I didn't realize you were from this area! You either Laura. It might not be quite as hilly as the zoo, but it is far from flat at the Safari Park! I was surprised when I went to the zoo last month and saw that they had removed all the moving walkways! 😳 That was unexpected and made getting around difficult.
I'll be posting the results from Date 2over the next little while.

I'm from Ramona so I understand that extreme heat of the mountains! I had to move all the way to Michigan to get away from it 😂 It's still odd to me to see San Diego Safari instead of Wild Animal Park. Glad you had fun!
Team 6 would like to claim the Speed Dating rose if Team 2's posts aren't right 😂https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Laura wrote: "I’m in Riverside.Been to the Wild Animal Park with a double stroller. That’s fun!"
That's not too far! Depending on where you are you might be able to see the most famous building up here.

Glad you had fun!"Well, we are about 4000 feet above Ramona, but I remember many hot days there. I spent a lot of time in Ramona many years ago. The gal I trained with, then practiced with, lived down Mussy Grade and practiced out of her home. And we still call it the Wild Animal Park too. 😉

I've posted the date totals in the team threads. If my numbers didn't match yours, please let me know! I'm zapped from the sun today and was distracted by today's stage of the Tour. (We recorded and watched it while I was working on the numbers.)I will update the beginning of this thread tomorrow. 😊

Hi MKat, can you look at team 2 again. Our records show 16 scavenger hunt roses instead of 15.

😊 Thank you MountainKat .
Amanda wrote: "Does an anthology work so long as one of the authors is from Colorado?"Sorry, this came in while I was making comments and it got missed!
Yes, anthologies will work as long as one of the authors is a Colorado author. You do have to read the entire anthology, not part of it.
Laura wrote: "Hi MKat, can you look at team 2 again. Our records show 16 scavenger hunt roses instead of 15."Checking that now. I will update in the team thread. 😊
Hi MKat! Quick question for you - would a member of the Colorado chapter of RWA be enough to qualify an author as being a Colorado author?
I have found a few of these authors, but their bios on social media, their websites, and good reads don't specifically state WHICH state they are in. Most make mention of the Rockies - which is a pretty long mountain chain...

I'm missing Phil, Bobke and VDV this year as we have the streaming service. So I've got a toned down brit and aussie calling the race instead. Detailed, but I miss Bobke's stories of being a domestique in the 80s and all his shenanigans.
My son and I played Carassone yesterday while we watched the stage. It seemed to fit the mood.

I will accept that. 😊

Hi Kat,I started a series last date that is set in Colorado, so was hoping to continue this week. The later books in the series haven't been shelved enough to have a MPG. Is it enough that the precis sounds like a romance? There's also no setting in the book details. Could I use an outside source to prove setting? Author website states "In Justice, Colorado, the Kennards run everything..."
