From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Claire Contreras comes a new story in her Sexy Royals series… Princess Pilar is tired of playing by the rules. She’s sick of the spotlight and being seen as the uptight goody-too-shoes the media has cast her to be. She’s especially tired of the fact that her brothers are allowed to run off and do whatever they want while she sits inside watching the world pass her by. That’s why she decides that while her older brothers are off on their usual summer holidays, she’s going to quietly pack her things and travel to the one place her parents have always forbidden her to step foot on – Ibiza. As the star of the French premiere fútball league, Benjamin Drake has it all – the money, the cars, the clothing contracts, and any woman he wants. Problem is, the only woman Ben has ever wanted badly enough to stop partying is Princess Pilar, the one he can never, ever have. Despite his fame and achievements, in Pilar’s world, she’ll always be royalty and he’ll always be a kid from the wrong side of the tracks who got lucky. He’d never be accepted. He knows that. Yet, when he spots Pilar partying at the same club as him, all bets are off. He’s determined to get her in his bed, even if it’s just for one night. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
Claire Contreras is a New York Times Best Selling Author. Her books range from romantic suspense to contemporary romance and are currently translated into over fifteen languages. When she's not writing, she's usually lost in a book or hanging out with her family.
I love royal romances and after reading 'The Sinful King' earlier this year, I knew I wanted more from this royal family. The Naughty Princess is a novella featuring King Elias's sister, Princess Pilar.
Pilar is a good girl and never gives her royal family any trouble, unlike one of her brothers. She keeps under the radar as much as she can and doesn't get into anything too exciting. Until she goes out with Benjamin Drake. Ben is someone she's crushed on for a while, as a famous footballer, he's always in the limelight.
Pilar and Benjamin go out a few times, and find that they really like each other. Not only that, but their chemistry is insane. It's hard, though. Pilar has a lot of expectations as a Princess and Ben tries very hard to keep his private life private, which is difficult if you're involved with a royal.
This short story packs quite the punch. I loved both Ben and Pilar and watching them navigate their feelings for each other. The Naughty Princess was a short and steamy story that held my attention from start to finish. I really hope we get a book about the final Prince, Aramis. I'm dying for that playboy's story!
Princess Pilar gets her happy ending and Benjamin Drake is her perfect prince! I love when an author I really love gets to give us an amazing short story with still all the elements a romance lover enjoys in a full-length novel. The Naughty Princess did not fail, I loved how Claire developed the love story, the chemistry, the feels and even some surprises! I loved Pilar and Ben together and they surely were sweet and naughty! I also really enjoyed catching up with the rest of the characters and I cannot wait to read Aramis story (I hope he ends with Joss! haha).
A steamy, entertaining novella many romance book lovers will enjoy, for sure!
This is a fun novella in the Naughty Royals series featuring Pilar, Elias and Aramis’ sister. We first met her in book one.
Pilar could be called the luckiest of the three royals. Her older brother is the King, her younger brother finds trouble everywhere he goes but she has managed to fly under the radar so far. She doesn’t really do anything that brings unwanted attention on their family and she enjoys a great social life of sorts - nothing like her brothers.
Pilar knows there is a lot more fun to be had and she decides to find it in Ibiza, a place she has never been allowed to go to which makes it all the more thrilling. It seems that the gods of fun are looking after her when she bumps in Benjamin Drake, football star and her drop dead gorgeous fantasy crush. They have crossed paths many times over the years but never like this.
What happens in Ibiza stays in Ibiza right? But what if it follows her home too…
This was a great read, lots happening, slightly lengthier novella but it went by so fast, I hope we get more of this couple.
A Novella that was packed with enough info to know what was going on. Princess Pilar wants to have fun and not be in the media. It's not fair that her brothers can come and go and do as they please. So she packs her things and goes to Ibizi, where her parents never wanted her to go. Benjamin Drake is a football player and has the reputation of a ladies man. Never with the same woman twice and seems to have 1 that is like a friend with benefits. He has known Pilar's family for years and always wanted her but didn't think he was good enough for her. She has always had a crush on Ben and so when their paths cross they decide to see what can happen. Loved these 2 characters. They showed that even though she is a Princess, she is still allowed to be with someone who isn't royalty. I received this from Inkslinger for review.
The Naughty Princess is a novella from the The Naughty Royals series. We met Princess Pilar in book 1, The Sinful King. I liked her from the moment we met her in that one and was eagerly anticipating her story. It’s a short and sweet novella between a royal and a soccer player. Pilar and Ben have met in the past and always had a crush on each other. They both happen to be in Ibiza at the same time. Pilar is a good girl, always doing the right thing and wants to let her hair down and let loose from her responsibilities. Ben is the opposite, a bad boy. These two had so much chemistry. There were also quite a few obstacles in their way. Everything moves really fast in this novella and I definitely wanted more, but it was an entertaining, quick read and I would definitely recommend this whole series. Now, just hoping we get a book for Aramis!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
FIVE STEAMY STARS**** Royally Awesome Novella. Decadent and sexy plot and multi dimensional characters, I couldn’t get enough. I highly recommend this one.
A sexy little novella about a princess who always keeps her nose clean and her vacation turned romantic getaway with a sexy professional athlete. This might be a novella but it packs all the punch of a full-length story, giving you the full run of hope and heartache. I love a good royal romance and this definitely befalls in that category.

The Naughty Princess was a cute romantic short story about a princess finally coming out of her shell. I feel that the story of Princess Pilar and Benjamin Drake could have been a full length book instead of a novella. I felt that the book started in the mix of them already having feelings and knowing each other, so there was quick turn around on how quickly they fell in love.
Claire Contreras writes amazing love stories and I wish she would have given us more of Pilar and Ben. My thoughts are before you read Naughty Princess that The Sinful King should be read to help give us some context on Ben and Pilar before their romance.
Overall I fell in love with all of the characters in this story and I am interested to see what Claire Contreras has in store for Aramis and Joss, that love story I can just feel is going to be crazy love/hate kind of thing.
Princess Pilar just wants a little time off from her scheduled & proper life. Wanting to make her own decisions like her brother, King Elias, she is ready to spread her wings. When playboy and fútball star, Benjamin Drake first met Pilar he knew she was special but they are from two completely different worlds so would they ever be allowed to be together? Watch this feisty princess and fútball star find their own paths to each other. A great short story but with all the heat and scandal needed from this royal novella! A part of the 1,000 dark nights series. A great enjoyable afternoon read. Told in dual POV
A short novella that packs all the feels! I met Princess Pilar while reading The Sinful King and I immediately wanted to know the story of this polite, demure girl. And when sexy Benjamin Drake entered the stage? I was bursting from excitement!
Pilar knows what is expected of her and what her responsibilities are. Her life revolves around the Crown. On paper she’s the perfect princess - always nice and obliging, avoiding scandals and the spotlight. Benjamin Drake is a footballer who was Pilar’s crush for awhile. This rich and handsome guy is a player on and off the field. The attraction is definitely mutual, but getting involved with royalty will bring the attention Ben avoids, especially when it concerns his past and his secrets. The chemistry is too strong to ignore their connection. One night is not enough to get each other out of their systems. This bad boy and his naughty princess will have many obstacles to overcome, because what they have is special and unforgettable.
It was a quick and entertaining read, full of surprises and steam. I loved to see how Ben and Pilar couldn’t stay away from each other and how their relantionship evolved. The cameo from my favorite book from Claire was a wonderful treat. The Naughty Princess is a nice addition to the Sexy Royals series. Now my anticipation for Aramis’ story is even greater!
I loved her character in Sinful King and she was the proper Princess- quiet, beautiful and loyal. Benjamin is sexy and famous and you can feel the attraction between him and Princess Pilar- it is sizzling and when they give in to temptation ... it is scorching hot!!! In this novella, Claire Contreras has delivered a story that proves that love always wins. It was steamy, addictive and too short for me! I cannot wait till we get Aramis story!
The Naughty Princess by Claire Contreras is a steamy novella in the Sexy Royals series that is filled with lots of romance and twists to keep you wanting for more.
While her two older brothers are not afraid of getting caught in a scandal, Princess Pilar has always been the good child and a devoted member of the monarchy. Her life has been a little more sheltered and she desperately wants the freedom that her two other brothers have. When she gets an opportunity to take a short holiday away, Pilar is quick to travel to Ibiza. With no cameras around to watch her every move, she decides to let loose only to bump into her crush, Benjamin Drake. Over the years, Ben has attended her mom’s Sunday dinners, but they still don’t know each other very well. He is her total opposite and she finds him that much more attractive. Yet, Pilar knows that they will part ways one way or the other, and she is willing to let herself loose with Ben. Little did she know that her live was about to change forever.
Benjamin Drake has it all, the money, fame, and women at his disposal. But if there is one thing that he treasures the most is his privacy or what little he can get to keep to himself. As the start of the French premiere futball league, Ben is a celebrity that is always being followed. His career keeps him surrounded by female fans, yet he has always wanted one person’s attention in particular. He knows that they come from different worlds, but he wants for Pilar to truly see the real him not the person that the media portrays him to be. Yet, there are secrets that could torn their relationship apart and Ben has to convince Pilar that they are made for each other before it’s too late.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Naughty Princess, it had me hooked from the start and it did not disappoint. Although this is part of the Sexy Royal series, it can be read as a standalone. Now, what I enjoyed the most was the chemistry between the characters. Ben is there for Pilar when she needs him the most and vice versa. As they get to know each other, the more Pilar starts to fall for Ben. But once out of their romantic bubble, they have to face the world and the secrets that could end their relationship. I loved the ending, it was cute and fit well with the story as a whole. All in all, if you’re looking for a steamy royal romance than I would highly recommend checking out The Naughty Princess. It will not disappoint. :)
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
The Naughty Princess is quite the ironic name because what readers have learned about Princess Pilar and the way she lives her life in her brother’s story and at the beginning of her own is about as opposite of the word naughty as she can be, but then as the story line moves forward and Pilar gets a small taste of freedom on vacation, she does take some risks, allowing mutual attraction and sizzling chemistry above her royal duties and her crown.
This isn’t technically a case of a good girl going bad…it’s more the idea that a girl who keeps to herself and stays in line according to the dictates of her royal pedigree…finally finds something, or in this case, someone, to take a chance on, and it’s definitely interesting to see such a toe the line and respectful girl let loose a bit and feel like her choices are her own and she doesn’t have to worry about anyone attempting to stop her.
Regardless of how famous Benjamin is and how hard he’s worked to make a name for himself, even if some of that fame is due to his suspected reckless behavior, in the eyes of Pilar's royal family and her social status, he has no right or way to be a part of her life, especially in the way that he wants to be. Add that to the fact that he’s a private person, any connection he may want to have with Princess Pilar will also put him in the public eye - a place he’s uncomfortable to be in, even though he may not have a choice.
Pilar and Benjamin’s story is a quick and steamy read, partly because it’s a novella but also because it focuses on a set amount time, given the getaway that Pilar takes.
The Naughty Princess: A Sexy Royals Novella is part of the 1001 Dark Nights World. It is a quick, sexy read.
Pilar is a princess. She is a bit sheltered and on the innocent side. She is tired of always having to be a good girl and behave. She just wants the chance to let loose and have fun. She has always had a crush on Benjamin Drake but she was too shy to act on it. She finally gets her chance to go on a date with the well-known bad boy football player. On their first date, there is an undeniable attraction and a bit of naughtiness. This was just for fun right? Benjamin Drake is a notorious bad boy and famous football (soccer) player. He is not the relationship type but he would love to get a chance with the princess. The problem in his mind is that they're from different worlds. He's the poor kid who got lucky and she is the unobtainable princess. Pilar is always such a good girl but when he sees her let loose at a club, he knows he wants to have a little fun with her too. When they finally have their date, sparks fly. Will either one of them be okay with just one night?
This was a good read but I felt that things happened a little too fast. I realize this is a novella but I felt that it jumped forward at too fast a pace, almost to where I had to go back and read it again to make sure that I read it right. The plot was really good and I did like it, I just wish that it would have been a little more developed and better paced. I liked the hero and heroine and there were wonderful secondary characters too. Ben was my favorite. I hope to read more about these royals in the future. This is a standalone novella that ends in a HEA.

“I’m not humoring you, Princess. I think about you often. Naked. In my bed. In the shower. Beneath me. On top of me.”
If you are looking for something sexy, steamy and little bit naughty, this novella ticks all the boxes. Even though this is a shorter book, it really packs in all feels and drama I love about royal romances. Princess Pilar, the good girl of the royal family, always staying out of the tabloids and never bringing shame to the legacy, wants to be a little naughty for once. Her crush on Football Star Benjamin Drake just might be the one thing she can’t resist getting into a little trouble for. A little naivety and innocence plagues her decisions and actions throughout the book, but she matures as she falls more in love.
“Who would have known that underneath it all, you’re such a naughty princess?”
Ben has a reputation with the ladies and a string of ex’s, some of whom are less than discreet with their dislike of his new love affair with the Princess. This leads to a good amount of drama and surprises but the steamy scenes with Pilar definitely left me satisfied. A quick, fun read that I finished in a day that had me smiling at some surprise appearances of past favorite characters.
This book was hot and so sweet and exactly what I needed. Ben will set your panties on fire. I think I love him more than Elias. 🙊 Fans of The Player will be thrilled to see some familiar faces. The Naughty Princess didn't feel like a novella, the author delivered a full length story with the way the plot developed effortlessly.
“Quiet and attentive. Who would have known that underneath it all, you’re such a naughty princess?”
Can somebody turn the heat down in here?! For such a short story, this book sure packed a lot of heat!!
We first met Pilar in The Sinful King by Claire. Now, we finally get her story with the lovely Ben Drake! (The Sinful King does NOT need to be read to read this story.)
Sinful. Sexy. Addicting.
Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for an angsty royal romance!!
“Men were kind of a mystery to me, but Ben Drake was completely uncharted waters.”
This was a short but hot as son novella about good girl princess Pilar and always staying in line and not embarrassing the monarchy. That is until she finally meets up with her forever crush and her brothers friend Benjamin Drake.
Benjamin has had his eye on Pilar for years and they were both finally in the right place at the right time to come together as they finally to their attraction towards each other.
Their quick one night turned into a lot of drama and I was so happy that Pilar didn’t allow for past traditions dictate who she would love and marry. I loved this strength and that Benjamin stood beside her through it all.
this novella was short but intense. it is sexy but has a plot nonetheless. the characters are attaching and I’m really looking forward to reading ‘The Sinful King’. I loved seeing the aspect of royalty even though it wasn’t the most highlighted thing. I also love the way the book ended, and the fact that it hinted the other books in this series.
Such a fan of royal romances and Claire Contreras delivers a quick, sweet, steamy one with The Naughty Princess. Plus, I love me a sexy footballer! I loved Pilar and Benjamin’s romance and I’m ready and excited for her brother’s story!
This book was everything that I need to be. It’s a royal romance, full of love, freedom, romance and the quick read that I wanted. I was able to read in one sit. And most important is the book sequence from The Sinful King, one of my favorites of this year.
I love everything about Princess Pilar and Benjamin Drake’s story. Pilar always followed the royal rules, the perfect example. Now that her brother was the King of France, she just wanted a little freedom and to go to a vacation to enjoy herself just like her brothers, Elias and Aramis, did and do since forever. Off she goes to Ibiza, just to find there her eternal crush Benjamin Drake.
Ben is a famous footballer (or soccer player), a well known womanizer and Aramis friend. He always had a thing for Pilar but never acted on it because he has some secrets from his past that he just didn’t want to show everyone. And being with Pilar is risk to put everything in the open.
I loved how they helped each other to grow and to open their hearts for their future. It was a growing relationship and although all the things that could go wrong they are just there for each other, they only need to let go some fears behind.
I love Pilar and Ben together, their chemistry was insane and it was beautiful to read how they navigate through their feelings. I was so happy to have some tidbits about Elias, Adeline, Joss, Aramis and others... I missed them! I’m just hoping that Claire decides to write Aramis book, I love him and I’m sure his book would be a good fun!
4 stars The Naughty Princess is a 1001 Dark Nights novels written by Claire Contreras. Like all the Dark Nights stories it packs a lot of heart into a short package.
Pilar is anything but naughty, never stepping out of line in her royal family. She serves the crown first and rarely chooses to do anything for herself. But this last year has been hard and Pilar deserves a vacation. She heads to the island where the rich and famous play away from the majority of the prying cameras of the paparazzi. There she finds her long time crush, footballer Benjamin Drake and for the first time in forever, she takes something for herself.
Ben always liked the princess and since he's been friends with her brother for years, he's gotten to know her. But he's never seen her like this. She's carefree and really living. Despite all the warnings from those around him, he's drawn to her like a moth to a flame. He knows he's putting his intense need for privacy in jeopardy but she's worth it. Unfortunately he's not the only one who will be thrust into the spotlight.
Great story. So happy to see the perfect, loyal princess get her moment to shine. Ben was a great match for her; charming and surprisingly sweet. Loved the extra complications that were thrown at them. Can't wait for the story for Aramis, pretty sure the woman he falls for is going to pack a helluva punch!
This hot little novella kept me in its grip until the end. I absolutely loved Pilar and Benjamin together. Her naivety and innocence makes her endearing and he’s just the hot, older super star to show her how it’s done.
Pilar has always been the good girl. The picture perfect princess who always puts her family and the Crown first. She’s always thinking about everyone else and how to present herself and her family in the best light. But when she gets a chance to act on her long-time crush on the smoking hot Benjamin Drake, she finally decides she wants to do something just for herself, even if it can never go anywhere. But she’ll have to get past all that comes with being a member of the royal family and sister of the king to do it.
Benjamin Drake...sexy as hell playboy superstar soccer player who wants and is so much more than the persona he’s always put on. He uses it to keep people at a distance to protect secrets that could stand in the way of him getting the one thing he’s come to want most. He knows he shouldn’t get involved with Princess Pilar, but he can’t help wanting more with her.
If you love your guys sinfully hot, royal intrigue, and corruption in the best possible way, The Naughty Princess is the book for you. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, if you’ve read The Sinful King and want more of the characters you already love, Claire Contreras has just delivered again.
