Wahida | 2 comments The book has many stories about bears in a town where they go to work, go to school, and hold other social activities (eg. school fair). There are also stories about their pets (I remember a horse with a straw hat in particular) and if I remember correctly, those stories alternate with the bears'.

There's a story about a grizzly bear crying all day and the other bears trying to console her. I also know they use marzipan in their baking (learned the word the first time then). At the end of each story there's a vocabulary page with a few words with the illustration.

No idea of the exact publication date, author, or publisher (was a child then). Might be wrong but I think the cover is light blue. Hardcover for sure. Very thick and heavy. Square-shaped.

I got it as a gift around 2002-2003 and it was one of the loveliest book I ever read as a child. Most probably out of print by now. Appreciate all the help!

Bear's Bedtime Book? Contains the sentence "Although Percy Podge liked marzipan".

Wahida | 2 comments Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! I did some further digging from your links and found A Book of Five-Minute Teddy Bear Tales and instantly recognised the illustration!

The closest I can find to match my description is My Little Treasury of Bedtime Stories. The content is not what I remember but my copy might be an older edition or my memory is failing 😂

I believe I found my book. Thank you mod! 🐻🤍
