Christian fiction book about a guy who grew up in a library

Ok, so I have searched high and low for this book and haven't found it anywhere. It has a hint of an allusion to the Bible in the sense that the main guy ends up being like a Jesus figure and "marries the church". It opens with him on Earth but a mysterious man comes and gives him a book that leads him to an alternate world that strangely mirrors Earth. The mysterious book also comes with a weird worm thing that helps guide him. In the alternate world he fights creatures and befriends talking animals. I know the descriptions sound odd, but I swear this is a real book series. One of the last books in the series should be called "The Author".

Also, I remember reading it when I was in like 4th or 5th grade...and I don't know who the publisher is but I believe it was by a christian author
