Novel about a mother who dies on Christmas eve while getting medicine for her husband who is terminally ill. Children go to live with the maternal grandparents while their father goes to hospice care to die. Father gets better and takes his children to their mother's childhood home and restores the lighthouse there. He is called the miracle man. He saves his daughter when she gets swept out to sea during a storm.
