"They have a gym," Rin stated.
She'd been there, and had seen some sparring mats,
"Do you know how to box?" she asked him.
"Right-" "Well, to the gym I guess," she said.
Rin stood, and brushed off her pants and shirt, putting her sage green bomber jacket back on. She adjusted her gloves and mask then started towards the door.
Alya sat down on one of the chairs in the common space, music in one ear, phone in her pocket. As always, she was aware of her situations and didn't put both earbuds in, a force of habit. Placing her homework on the table in front of her, she bent over it and began to read the instructions, impatient. Honestly, she wished she was at the gym right about now, but she needed to get her work done first, it was really starting to pile on.
Niki sat at the next table over. She had a lot of homework and dropped all her books on the table. She took her pencil out of her pocket and started working, but got distracted almost immediately by someone texting her. Then she forgot about the homework and started working on her robot.
The book drop on the table caught Alya's attention, and she turned to see another student, younger than herself, working on...a robot? Her blue eyes widened a little in interest; her uncle used robots, used AIs, and so naturally she was curious. The redhead decided o speak. "Hey. That's pretty neat, did you build it yourself?" She asked the girl.
"Yeah. Well Ray helped me a bit, but I mostly did it by myself. When it's done it should be able to fly around and kill mosquitos." She took a screwdriver out of her pocket and kept working.
"Oh." Alya tiled her head. "That's pretty creative, mosquitos are a pest." She didn't know who Ray was, and decided not to pry, since she definitely knew how annoying it was when people pried into her life too much, specifically her roommate. "Have you been inventing for awhile?"
She nodded "Since I was seven. Ray taught me most of the stuff I know. He's really smart and can invent a bunch or crazy awesome stuff."
"Wow." That was impressive, she had to admire that intellect that must come with such skill. Skill she didn't have, not in the slightest. Sure, Alya could speak a bunch of languages and was an expert marksman, and her mom could cross a man off with her bare hands, but both would be clueless when it came to tech and science. "I like it." She then smiled a little. "Sorry, I guess I should have introduced myself. I'm Alya."
"Niki." She said, she stared at her books. She had a lot of homework that she had to finish by morning. She could finish most of it pretty quickly, though.
Alya caught the look Niki gave her books. "I'm sorry, am I distracting you?" She asked her. "Probably." She tended to do that, chat peoples' ears off sometimes.
"No. your fine. I can do all this later." She waved at her books. "If you don't mind me asking, who are your parents? everyone seems to have famous parents around here."
Alya took a breath. She didn't, per say, but she wasn't super fond of getting into said conversation either, with what it could lead to. But she shrugged. "It's fine. And yeah, they do. My mom's Natasha Romanoff. The Black Widow. I don't have a father," she told Niki. "How about you? Since you're definitely right, people are from fascinating places."
"Cool. My moms are Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe. I grew up on the Waverider so there's a lot of people. Nate and Ray are like my uncles, Zari and Amaya are basically my aunts. I guess you could say Mick is...I don't know what Mick is."
"What's the Waverider?" Alya asked curiously, kind of glad Niki didn't push. "And we'll, it sounds like your family is pretty big. That can be really fun." She smiled.
"Its a twenty second century time ship. And yeah, it can be pretty fun. I didn't have anyone until I was seven though."
"Like a space ship?" Alya paused at the last words, and her stomach sunk. She hadn't been planning to get into this but Niki had brought it up. "I didn't have anyone until I was six, either, actually," she admitted.
"Yeah. Like a space ship. But it travels through time. Its really cool." She said, " And it sucks doesn't it?"
"Whoa...that sounds really cool. Have you gone to the past? Can you?" Alya sighed and tugged on some of he hair. "Yeah. It really sucks. I'm sorry you had that experience too. I really am "
"Yeah. I go to the past all the time. I've seen all kinds of stuff. Faught in wars, saved time. I've been to the future a few times too and-" She stopped when she suddenly felt like she was going to throw up. "Sorry." She took a sip of water and the nausea went away
"What? Oh, it's fine, are you okay?" Worry shone in Alya's eyes. She had so much she wanted to ask about the last...and the future?! What was that like? But it seemed like something had been wrong
"Yeah, yeah. Fine. Sorry. I get sick a lot. its annoying. no one can figure out why. not even Gideon."
"No, it's okay, I'm just worried. It was sudden. Sorry that happens, it sounds frustrating. Is Gideon a doctor?"
"It is. Gideon's the Waverider's AI. Shes basically the living internet."
"Oh, okay. AIs are fascinating, my uncle has a bunch of them. What's that like, seeing the future? I feel like it would freak me out." Seeing her own future, how she'd die? If it got that far, anyway. She'd definitely panic.
"Well, your not allowed to know roo much about your own future, so I don't know much about what happens to me or the rest of the Legends. I more than i should, though. But its super cool. Lot of super advanced technology. People are pretty much the same."
"But what if you see something that happens to someone you care about? Something bad? Or is the future changeable?"
"No future is permanently set in stone, but it's pretty hard to change. Purposely changing it can cause time quakes which are not good. If you see something yoh don't want to see, there's really nothing you can do about it. You can have Gideon erase the memories, but what's done is done I guess. Its why we don't visit the future very often. Mostly the past."
((I have to go for the night. We can continue tomorrow if you could like. I'll be on at random times pretty much all day and then pretty much consistently past 10))

((okay!))"A time quake? That sounds a bit menacing, but I suppose it is, since you said they're not good." She nodded slowly. "Yeah, I guess that can get complicated by the sounds of things. Can you change the past?"
"Yea, it's not good. Usually damages the ship and then were not able to time jump. And yea, we can technically change the past, but we can't. If you change the past, it will change life as we know it today. Like once someone killed Elvis and the world was hell."
"Elvis? The musician? Were you able to fix it?" It sounded perplexing to her. Sure, her family had messed around with time, but in all honesty she didn't want some huge complicated explanation her uncles would give, this was a lot better.
"Yeah, the musician. And yes, we were able to fix it. Thank god. The world would be crazy if we hadn't."
She nodded. "That's a relief. Is that what you do for a living, then? Besides being here as a student. Fixing the timelines?"
"Yep. That's what the legends do. We save time. Sara and Ava wouldn't let me in field until a few years ago though. Before that I was either in the library with Nate or the lab with Ray. On occasion, Sara will let me fly the ship. What about you? you do anything cool outside school?"
"That sounds really neat. Honestly I think I'd panic if I had to fly a ship that went through time. It sounds stressful but hey, more power to you." Alya nodded and leaned back in her chair, twirling a strand of red hair around a pale finger. "I do. I mean, sort of. I'm kind of..." She shrugged. How to put this? "I train a lot," she finally told her. "I spend hours in gyms with guns and with weights, and sparring with people."
"Maybe we could spar some time." She suggested, "If you want. You do batons?"
Alya blinked. "You spar? And yeah, I do. Their my mom's specialty, actually, so I was on them pretty early. Yeah, I'd be down." She perked up a little.
Niki smiled "Yeah, all the time. Batons are my moms specialty, too. Sara's at least."
"Oh." Alya was surprised to hear both of those. Maybe she and Niki weren't entirely different after all. Well, except that Alya's mother was once a trained killer...technically still was. But she didn't mention that. "But yes, we should, that could be fun."
Niki smiled. Sara had not been trained to fight, she had been trained to kill, but Niki had never seen that part of her. It was like someone had taken that assassin out of her and replaced it with the Sara she knew and loved. "Good."
"When are you free? I typically go to the gym in the mornings" Alya told Niki. "But I can vary my schedule."
"Whenever as long as its not a Sunday. I go back to the waverider on Sundays and we go on missions. You should come some time!"
"Let's do boxing," she announced.
Rin made the connection that doing boxing would help her use her quirk without people suspecting and it would also be more where she could build strength that she didn't have,
