I'll nominate After Elizabeth: The Rise of James of Scotland and the Struggle for the Throne of England again.
Hello,And now for something completely different. I nominate
by Jasper Fforde, the first book in the Thursday Next series. Now, you're probably asking how in the world a Science Fiction book set in 1985 could possibly qualify for a Tudor read. I was 2/3rds of the way through the book before it occurred to me that this would make a good book club read. While the focus is on
by Charlotte Brontë and
by Charles Dickens, a Shakespeare Vs. Bacon debate wanders throughout the book. And the presentation of
is to die for. As a alternative, if this is rejected as a nomination, I offer
by Johan Huizinga. My second nomination is
aka
by David Starkey.
I have read and really enjoyed the entire Thursday Next series, but I'm going to say The Eyre Affair just isn't "Tudor enough" - sorry, William.
I will nominate " Young and Damned and Fair" by Gareth Russell and " The virgin Widow" by Anne O'Brien
Antonietta: do you mean The Virgin Widow? Because that's about Anne Neville and too early. There's a Jean Plaidy novel of the same title that's about Katherine of Aragon, though.
Hi Susanna yes it is the one about Anne Neville. As the is something about Margaret Beaufort and Henry VII I have thought it would be ok. But I going to find something else :)
The winner was Amy License's biography of Catherine of Aragon, and we'll be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.
Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.
Two nominations to a person, please.
