Honestly, I don't remember too much about this book but it's been haunting me for years. I am certain it's not a fever dream and I actually remember reading this, but I cannot find anything about it anywhere online.

I never finished it, and that haunts me.

The main protagonist I believe was named Cal, which was short for something. He had two friends, a big guy, who might have been an ogre or ogre analogue (or maybe just a big guy), and a woman.

It was probably a little more adult, I remember sex scenes, and a direct reference to cunnilingus (called Coring the Apple in the book), what a weird fact to stick in my head but I was 13 so take that for what it's worth.
