This started off weird in a fun way, but later really dragged and also had a high level of violence. I kept thinking I was reading Haruki Murakami, and he is mentioned in the book. But this didn't quite measure up. It is an early book by Mitchell, closer to his horror stories than to Cloud Atlas.
