This thread is where you place your votes for other members once you have perused their lists. Again, please, only ONE MESSAGE per member which you can then update as you go along. We want to make this easily visible to all so please, NO REPLYING or CHATTING. The following is just an example of how your list could look:-

Sophie - Where The Crawdads Sing
Tonya -
and so on .....

Again, how you post is your choice, dress it up as much as you like, just please ensure you stick to the one message and update as you cast more votes. Voting can begin as the June 2021 selections go up.

Vicki Willis I voted for everyone, but I am not putting up a book list this month. I still have not been able to get back to reading, but maybe next month. I do still like to see what everyone is reading. :)

Sue | 131 comments I finished The Haunting of Hill House and have to say was disappointed by it. I’d really enjoyed We All Live in The Castle so thought would be good, and the first half was, but on the whole it just didn’t work for me.
Also just finished Come A Little Closer by Rachel Abbott which was probably her best yet, very good.

The book was just OK. but the Netflix show scared the crap out of me!

I'm trying to post the July threads but GR is not letting it happen so please bear with me whilst I keep trying.

message 7: by Jeffrey (new)

Jeffrey Marshall (jmarsh17) | 57 comments Read "Memorial Drive," by the poet Natasha Trethaway. Searing memoir, beautifully written, about her mother's tragic death at the hands of her ex-husband. One of those tragic stories about abusive men killing women who reject them on the sick premise of "if I can't have her, nobody can."

Tonya (tonyasmith) | 693 comments Hey ladies..I just voted and put up my list for July. Would you please vote.

Patricia Bergman (marshop) | 1229 comments I finished one of my tie books, Persuader (Jack Reacher, #7) by Lee Child Persuader. Lee Child never fails.

Sorry for delay, up in north Wales & no WiFi at the place I’m staying - have to come and eat at a pub in order to log on!,!🥪

Patricia Bergman (marshop) | 1229 comments Janet said that Goodreads would not let her post additional threads which explains why we can't chat in July. Let's hope they will allow the rest of the August threads to be posted. This is one of my favorites.

message 15: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Me too! I've definitely been able to get back to reading more. This is a great group.

Hi folks!! Thanks for your patience. Managed to get the July and August threads up today. Have had problems before so not sure what's going on with GR.

Enjoy your July reads and your August selections.

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments I finally finished my June read - Dead Souls (D.I. Kim Stone, #6) by Angela Marsons - #6 in the Kim Stone series. The premise was a little messed up.

I am not sure I really enjoy these books that much, but feel pressured to keep continuing. I think I just love series..
Has anyone else read the series?

I have Dana but I can't remember what I got up to. Book 8 or 9 maybe. Overall it's a pretty good series, just one I've grown tired of.

I feel the same, especially when you compare it to other ones I love (Rizzoli & Isles, Grant County/Will Trent). I think there are 14!

message 22: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Agreed... I never get tired of Tess Gerritson

Patricia Bergman (marshop) | 1229 comments Although I've read many of her books, I watch Rissoli & Iles on Lifetime in the evening.

There are even longer ones. The In Death series is past 50 but while there are entries in the series with weak plots, I never get tired of just getting to spend time with those characters.

Yes I know you love those books Kirsten! I keep meaning to try them. That is so many books, I also want to continue with the Temperance Brennan series.

Patricia - the books are really good. I also love the TV show, a little different than the books but equally good. and funny!

Agreed! I just checked and it looks like the next one won't be out until 2022

You're probably smarter than me and probably finish series before you start new ones. I don't even want to know how many I've started but not finished!

I know I remember when you were trying to get through them all! I try, but there are just so many books to read it is hard to keep on one series :)

message 29: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis I like when I am caught up on a series and the author writes one book per year and I just look forward to it!

I am still working on the Grant County series, well technically I am now into the Will Trent part of it, but still pretty far behind.

message 30: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Ooh I finished those last year! I didn't like the Will Trent as much but then it got better for certain reasons (don't want to spoil it). I love when her new ones come out.

I am currently reading her new standalone. I am starting to think she may be a bit too graphic for me now

I'm currently reading False Witness, Slaughter's latest book. About halfway through now. Her books were pretty graphic right from the start!

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments I'm reading it right now too! So good so far. Specifically "Pretty Girls" was bad

I think I've just gotten softer since having a daughter...

Pretty Girls was a four star read for me. Initially I couldn't get into it and nearly gave up but stuck with it and I was riveted. I've got three daughters..... and a son!! ;o)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Her writing is so good, it will keep me around haha.

That is impressive, I currently can't imagine more than 1!
