I would pick it up if they did. I do think we'd need to see a House of M omnibus before they would do this one.

They could put these 38 issues into an omnibus:

Decimation: House of M - The Day After and X-Men, #177-181.
Decimation: Generation M, #1-5
Decimation: Son of M, #1-6
Decimation: Sentinel Squad O*N*E, #1-5
Decimation: X-Men - 198, #1-5 and X-Men: The 198 Files (one-shot).
X-Men: Deadly Genesis, #1-6
Wolverine: Origins & Endings (Wolverine Vol. 3), #36-40.

noelbeast | 489 comments I’ve got the four House of M OHC’s. I’d love to see an omnibus (maybe 2 vols?) of the content, if anything to see how they arrange the tie-ins in chronological order to align with the plot. I remember it being one of my more frustrating moments trying to read everything in correct order, and one of the more glaring issues I’ve ever seen with Marvel where certain tie-ins were poorly planned with the writers of the main event. When I do an eventual reread, I’ll probably skip all but the main story, although I recommend Masters of Evil, which was a separate TPB.

Decimation I’d buy as an omnibus, although it was sort of a let down for me overall. Cool idea, just didn’t live up to level I had hyped it up in my mind. From what I remember, Son of M was my personal highlight.

I too remember liking Son of M. IIRC, it had some good dialogue between him and Magneto, or at least some really good characterization for Pietro. I never read some of the other stuff like O*N*E.

The characterization for Pietro was quite good in my opinion. I found it fascination his motives for trying to restore his mutation, especially his difficulties tolerating “normal” speed.

O*N*E was nothing special. I can’t remember if it was those particular issues, but there were some times that either Psylocke was stretching provocatively in front on the sentinels for the pilots to watch, or the pilots leering at Rachel through the wall while she took a shower, etc. Teenage me would probably enjoy the sexualization of some of my favorite female mutants scantily clad, etc., but just felt gross reading as an adult.

Sean Lim | 51 comments @Relstuart, I'd totally buy your House of M omni! The HoM HC was my first X-Men hardcover bought for my birthday from my brother. And that hooked me in ever since (well, 10 years later it did!)

Son of M and Deadly Genesis are currently in the War of Kings Prelude, so I'll be curious to see whether those 12 issues would make the cut of your 38. Regardless, 26 issue collection is still a decent size for an omni.

Apologies for my ignorance, I haven't read those Wolverine tie in issues before. Do these play a bit part to the story too?

So..."

I'm not sure how connected those Wolverine issues were towards the overall event to quantify how much they add. With Son of M and Deadly Genesis already captured in an omnibus I'm not sure if a Decimation omnibus is as likely. But first, I do still think they would need to do a House of M omnibus. That does feel inevitable with the way that story continues to impact the ongoing continuity in comics and in the cinematic universe.
