Clark T. (lunareclipse8) | 14 comments Premise: The book involves preparing for a mayday celebration in a small town and one of the main characters is an adult woman who always takes things literally--for example pruning the trees (puts prunes on trees). I also remember the book following the schoolchildren's lives, for example at one point they boycott something completely mundane (grilled cheese sandwiches or something). The book is multi-media, incorporating lots of drawings as well as fictional letters and newspaper clippings.
Year: 2008-2016
Reading age: Lower-school, middle-school
Cover: It had a large hand-drawn tree on the front cover.
