Just started today! I’m only 30 pages in so, but I’m really liking it so far (view spoiler)[ bobs back story is so sad just like Ivan’s, it’s horrible that humans separated him from his family and left him all alone, no wonder he has a love hate relationship with humans. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, (view spoiler)[ it was a good but sad start to this book. I love the lines that make me smile during a sad and emotional time. Like where Bob says he'd give a mile-high pile of bacon cheeseburgers to see Ivan and Ruby in the wild...I smiled during that line, but then the very next line was "But it ain't happening. If you're an animal, it helps to be a realist."

I get pulled in and so invested, smile a little at these adorable lines that show personality, and then just like that, we're back to to the story and strong emotions.

I didn't realize how long Part 2 was, so I'll break that into different sections.

Up to page 85- (view spoiler)[ It sounds like there is a storm/hurricane coming in soon. And I'm ready for Bob to see Ivan and Ruby again! Bob just saw Droolius on his walk, and I love the part where it talked about when you forgive someone, you lose your anger, and when you lose your anger, you become weak, and when you're weak...you can be hurt again. Dang...this book does such a great job putting big ideas into small and manageable words for kids.

And then of course, the author put a smile on my face when Bob gave Droolius his entire sandwich he found...after taking a bite, of course! :)

For someone who one thinks of "Numero uno," Bob sure things of other friend's feelings quite a bit :) :) (hide spoiler)]

The little reunion we saw with him, Ivan and Ruby was adorable and I'm so glad they all have happy lives now.
Bob's little "adventure" hasn't started yet though so I'm excited to see what happens! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I completely agree! I love the way the author writes. There's a lot of inner monologue and thoughts so you really get to know what Bob is thinking and it's definitely more showing than telling (hide spoiler)]
