Started late, whoops. I'm on chapter 3 right now! So far it's okay - the writing style feels simplistic to me and I'm interested but not hooked (yet?).
All good, I'm also a bit behind. I'm on chapter 10! I agree that it's a bit simple, but I don't mind because it makes for a pretty easy read. The book surprised me a bit with the actual detail around Ana's skating. I've read other books with figure skater main characters and they've never had the same level of detail.
I think it helps that the author is a professional skater too? I like the fact that all these skating details have been put in but without sounding forced.
