I have been reading this aloud to my 11 yo son fir the past several months. We are about 80 pages shy of finishing. He’s on vacation this week, so I plan to make a push to finish it. I’m looking forward to reading the comments.
I'm starting to read this one today. It looks like it will take awhile to get through but I'm excited to read it. I haven't read a fantasy book in awhile.
I've read through the first 62 pages and I read through A Miller To Be. I like the flow of it so far and the world building is really good. I thought it would be slower to get through but I think I'll be able to finish it in a week.(view spoiler)
I’ve been yet to start this book, I want to finish another one first, so I’ll probably start somewhere next week!
I'm on page 135. It's moving a little slow but I haven't really had time to read this week. I'm hoping to get a good chunk of it done today. It's a good story. I just wonder already if it could be a little shorter. The world building is really good though.
I'll be getting to this probably next week. Got a few other books to wrap up this week before I can start this big one. I've read it previously though when I was teenager and remember loving it and then kind of faltered when it came to reading the rest. So hopefully I'll still feel that way and be eager to read the rest of the series.
I'm on page 234. It's going pretty slow for me. I started another book and finished it also. I like the story and I think the world building is good. It just doesn't hold my attention for long. I keep thinking this will be the day I finish it and I end up doing something else. How is everyone else doing with it?
Ah okay. Hopefully, you’ll be able to finish it soon haha.I really liked it. I remember liking it as a kid. My taste has changed a bit (I liked Mistborn a bit more), but it’s a very good book regardless. Also, I’m up for reading the rest of the series if you all are.
The story is picking up a little more but it's still slow for me. Maybe there is too much detail for me. I don't have room in my reading challenges to fit the rest of the series this year.
I wanted to pop in to say that he wrote this when he was a teen and homeschooling, which I found rather impressive. In fact, this is the main reason I read it as I was homeschooling my kids when we learned this. I read the first three, but liked the first one best. By the time the fourth one came out I had forgotten too much, but my then teen kids liked them. My son (a rising senior in college now) actually read all four, and given that he's not a big reader was impressive.World building--I though it was quite good
Characters--also well done
Story telling--ditto
@Karin, I didn’t know that! That’s very impressive indeed. Ohh, that’s also impressive indeed haha!I think I’ve read all the books when I was younger and I remember them being easy and fun to read, so I get that.

I'm on page 310 now and it's picking up a bit. I got bored with them going town to town.

This is a slow book, so if you are reading it just for an epic romance you are going to find hit hard ;)
I finally completed it. I wasn't expecting a romance. I just heard that there was one. I'm glad I finally read it though.(view spoiler)
Ilse wrote: "It’s indeed a slow book, but I really like the storytelling and the world-building."I liked it as well. Had I been rating books at that time it would have been a good 4+ stars for me.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
