SOLVED. Teen book set in maze - white and red cover - around five years ago. [s]

I think I picked it up just over five years ago from the teen section of the library, and it didn’t seem too old then. I remember it being in the O-V section, but it could have been placed there by accident. It centres around a group of people (I think the POV character is female) dropped off in a labyrinth (either as a punishment or a hunger games fact of life situation) and having to defend themselves against these huge feathered black flying forms. I think the main characters friend might turn into one at some point? Or perhaps he was just very brutally murdered — I remember the book being really violent and being quite disturbed by it. A lot of it was set in a camp, where I vividly remember them making bandages for some reason. I think the maze had a strong stone architecture feel? I remember the cover being light coloured with a red wing on it, and it must be quite obscure because I haven’t been able to find anything about it. I’ve been thinking about it a lot though, and would really appreciate if I could reread it (and I think there might be a sequel, so I’d love to know what happens next). Thanks in advance!
