Let's make a list of resources for those who are interested in reading more diversely. There is no way we can make an exhaustive list, but this is a place to start.

This list will only include resources that are updated or have lots of books, so articles like "10 best XYZ books" will not be added. You can still add those links to the thread. Similarly, only lists that include SFF books/authors will be added to the list, but other resources are welcome in the thread.

BIPOC Writers of SFF
Queer Science Fiction and Fantasy Database
Aromantic and Asexual Database
Autistic Book List
100+ African Writers of SFF
List of Published African SFF
Caribbean SFF
Speculative Fiction in Translation
Crini's Diverse Books
We Need Diverse Books (Children's)

Reading Challenges (with book lists) on The StoryGraph:
Read OwnVoices
Geographical

This thread is only for listing resources. If you want to discuss why reading diversely matters, please go here: Importance of Considering Author Demographics for the Group Shelf.

There are lots of great Goodreads lists, they are usually easier to find with a search engine other than GR's own. After you find one interesting list, scroll to the bottom to see the tags and potentially find more.

Here are a couple of useful tags:

Diverse
Diverse Authors
Diverse Books
Ownvoices
Translated
Translation

We also have lots of recommendations in group, here are some of them:

Book list: Mental Health in Fantasy (October 2019)
Book List: Afrocentric Fantasy (February 2019)
Book list: Translated Sci-Fi (July 2019)
Book List: All the SciFi Ladies (March 2019)
Book list: Pride in Fantasy (June 2019)
LGBTQIA+ in scifi
Adult SF by Black authors
Written by POC?
African Fantasy
Chinese scifi
Recommendations for Indigenous Authors
Sci-fi Reads & Disability
Recommendations for books with Non-Colonial POV?

If you're looking for specific recommendations, please start a new thread in the Recommendations folder.

Last but certainly not least:

2021 SFFBC Amazin' Eights Challenge
Inclusive Book Bingo Challenge

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments I've started us off with a couple of links, please tell me all the ones you find useful and I'll add them to the list! ^_^

Cheryl (cherylllr) I'd be grateful to know, before clicking through, which lists are annotated. Goodreads Listopias, for example, are generally not.

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Of the ones I've added, most are. I think BIPOC writers and published African SFF are the only ones that are just lists with no commentary/categorization.

edit: In the first post that is, the second post only contains GR links.

Cheryl (cherylllr) thank you!

Sarah | 3166 comments I'm not really sure where to put this- I was going to put this in for nomination for the theme this month, but upon deeper research I think this author identifies as Serbian-American so therefore wouldn't count:

The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obreht - Obreht was born in Serbia and this book is set from the POV of a woman from the Balkan regions (it never says the specific country) who grew up during a war.

It's also Magical Realism and not strictly fantasy- but I think a lot of the members here would appreciate it.

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments I'll start the book list after nominations close in a little under a week, and that's the right place for recs that don't fit the theme perfectly for whatever reason :)

Sarah | 3166 comments Great- thanks Anna! Sorry I’m kind of out of it. Crazy busy the past few weeks.

Not sure if this belongs here or not, but figured I would mention Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction. Started reading it recently. Book on the history of female authors in horror and speculative fiction.
