Unable to Add a Book Description

I just published a couple books on Amazon, and Amazon added them to Goodreads - however without a description. I've attempted to add a new edition of each with a description, but when the new edition is successfully added there is still no description! The one I just wrote is nowhere to be found!

Does anyone know what's going on? Is this a bug?

Of course, someone like me who's also a Librarian might happen to come along here, too, but don't count on it. In this case, I can't check what the situation is with your books because clicking on your name doesn't bring up an author profile (I guess I was wrong thinking you need to have one to post in this group) so I can't tell what books you have here.

Do the new editions have the descriptions you added? If they do, and it's just the old editions that don't get any, then it's working like it should; the old editions won't get updated because some new ones are created, you need a Librarian to edit the old ones. If the new editions don't have descriptions you added either, then I don't know what's going on, and you definitely need to ask elsewhere.

I’m brand new as far as the author thing goes. I’ll have to look in to how to add an author profile and books to my account.

It’s any description at all, not just the old editions. New editions I add also don’t display the description.

Thanks for the heads up on the Librarians group. I’ll have to post about this there.

I was told that authors could change/update their book descriptions, but when I tried, I got a message saying only a Librarian to edit it.
