Lance | 4 comments i read it a while ago i think sometime in between 2015-2018. it starts with like the main character walking through a destroyed(by fire i think?) town. the main character is a boy who like, is a thief and draws really well but can’t draw his own face. at one point he goes to this rich guy’s house with all these other kids(i don’t remember how he got there though) who have special powers. they all are like training their powers and one of them has something to do with sculpting. the main character gets control of his powers last but for a while doesn’t know he has powers. they go on a quest or something at one point, all i remember of that is that it took a really long time and they were glad to get back to the old rich guy’s big house. it might have been a series the last part of the book ends with them having to go to another place when they had just got home. unfortunately that’s all i remember

Do you remember the cover?
Anything about the boy's family, friends, villains, etc?

Lance | 4 comments i remember the boy was an orphan, his parents were killed but i don’t remember if they said how. i think his power letting him draw was more of like a side thing he could also do, but i don’t remember what he actually could do. i think the cover had like a green square that was supposed to be glowing on it and i think the rest of it was a dark gray picture but idk what the picture was

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5545 comments Rebel Genius by Michael Dante DiMartino has art-related magic - I know you said that wasn't the protagonist's main power but mentioning it just in case.
